| Hey this kind of thing is great for high desert softball. USSSA was coming to Hesperia regularly, but last time they were out here, said they might not come back due to the field conditions (lack of maintainance in the outfields).
Dave- Any chance of wooing ASA, WSL, or U-trip out to V.V. for 2009? Some of those teams drive a long way to play in ranked, sanctioned tourneys.......it would help out the local economy and be a boon to HD softball.
Also: here is the SCMAF MEN'S Schedule link for those of you too lazy to cut and paste. Don't say I never did anything for you. Lol.

| good luck trying to get teams to come to the high desert. Teams from down below are not going to make the drive mainly because of the weather(wind, heat) and horrible fields. The big assosciations (asa, usssa) know teams will not travel to the high desert so dont look forward to seeing any of these assoc. any time soon. The only shot you have is to put together an unbeliveable prize package.

| There were teams from far and wide at that last U-trip in Hesperia...the main issue the tourney director had was with the condition of the fields. Maybe V.V. could offer some alternate venues. V.V. is centrally located for some travel teams. That Hesperia tourney had teams from all over.....but you are right, they did have a good prize package.
Just because it hasn't been done, doesn't mean it couldn't be done. If it's a qualifier or point series, teams will come. SCMAF is a start, but wouldn't it be cool to work with the other organizations to bring sanctioned tournies to V.V.? Some towns have huge annual tournies that boost the local economy for that weekend. It could be done here.
