| Derek, Howie Jr., Mark (Howie's brother), Please accept my sincere condolences. Howie was always a gentleman to me and my family as long as we've known him. I enjoyed playing for his team in the late 80's and I also enjoyed the fact that he was not willing to let his sponsorship end when his team had split up this past winter.
There's alot to be said for old school and that is exactly what Howie represented every time he attended one of our manager meetings this year. At first he couldn't understand why the league was changing from just a bar league to something more competitive. As the season went on, I think he was starting to see that the change was good for the league. As a matter of fact, I remember him saying "My team will show up and if you beat our asses, we'll shake hands and go have a cold beer at my bar!" And you know something? That really is what it should be about. After all, this is Sunday morning softball.
I suggest that we dedicate this season to Howie - someone who has always been a dedicated sponsor and a friend of ours. With that said, I have contacted a company to make a small adhesive patch that simply says "HOWIE" (that we can place on our hats). I just need to know which teams would like to participate and how many patches you'll need.
Sincerely, Kevin Dolan Moulton Construction

| KD..that was well said my friend. This league has a lot of class. Very nice, sincere posts to the Hopkins family. We will take as many of those adhesive patches as you can give us. Derek, very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Baseball for many of us is all about fathers and sons. And you are fortunate to have continued that over the last 10 years with softball. I always thought it was GREAT that JR played with Craig on the same team. I miss playing catch with my own father ..every day this time of year. Derek I hope that our humble attempts at expressing our condolences in some small way helps to assuage your grief
