Agreed, well done Exec!

One question, are the 3-6 seeds on Sunday defined by their regular season standing, or based on results of pool play?

Results of pool play. My guess is that all round robin games end on Saturday?

It is based on the results of the round robin.

In case of a tie, the tie breakers are as follows:

1) Head to Head - (Only applicable if two teams are tied and played each other in the Round Robin)
2) Plus/Minus
3) Total Runs For in all round robin games (Higher is best)
4) Total Runs Against in all round robin games (lower is best)
5) Coin Toss

Thanks

Chris

I wouldn't respond unless I was sure I knew the answer.

Which diamonds are going to be used this year other than the obvious? Is Milliken being used or that new diamond on Buroak everyone keeps talking about?

More important than which diamonds, are we using 2 umpires for the playoffs?? This 1-umpire thing, at best, sucks during the regular season. But I’d say that we absolutely need 2 during once the real competition starts up.

Can't say I've always agreed with Ouchie, but I do here. I've yet to hear a credible reason we went to 1 umpire and I think many calls have been missed this season.

Chris, the tiebreaker rules number 3 and 4 are a point of contention especially when a home team is up by 7 runs and don't get a chance to bat in the last half of the inning, I think the executive should rethink using 3 and 4 because there will be a lot of battles with the umpires and the other team in finishing games just to pile on the runs which is bad for so many reasons.

The home team would get to bat at the bottom of the last inning to reach a maximum of +7. No more.

Therefore if they were up by 4 in the last inning they could come to bat to try and score the additional 3 runs. In a plus/minus format this is necessary.

I agree with your post but if you are capped at a 7 run differential as stated in my post than you cannot also use total runs scored as a tiebreaker as theoretically the teams could bat a different amount of innings creating an advantage to the visiting team in all games (or taking it to an extreme the advantage goes to the team that finishes worse in the regular season).

Its hard to actually calculate the issues you have raised.

A team, over 4 games, could score a total of 60 runs, averaging 8 innings per game.

While on the other hand, a team over 4 games, could score a total of 84 runs, and average 6 2/3 innings per game...

It boils down to how potent your team is.

Boys it is the same thing
you can only win by 7 or lose by 7 so the rule is fair as long as you can finish your inning

Are we still playing 8 innings, with no new inning after an hour and twenty minutes come playoffs?

Home team is the highest rated seed.
All games are 7 inning. The home team must bat in the bottom of the 7th if they are not up by 7.
