i cant believe you can make a stupid rule about playing short if you dont bring a ball...i stopped bringing balls because they are stolen every time..brand new ball stolen tonight..it has my name on it but these idiots dont care just to dumb to buy their own..the city should supply the balls and let the rec people police the lowlifes who keep stealing..well what comes around goes around..i just hope i am there to see it

Sure Tina, so we'd need a rec staff at each field and then balls and that would only raise the cost per team and the cost would be more than a couple of balls for each team. Also, when we used City soccer balls players didn't care for them and they would disappear even faster. This way there is at least an incentive for the teams to take care of the balls. So before you start saying that something sucks, look at the big picture. Would you rather have you league fees raised $50-$75 per season? No one said that at the managers' meeting.

I don't blame the rec-staff,the city,or the rule, but I am sick and tired of buying balls to have someone take it.When I'm playing I can't be watching out for a ball that is not on the field or I won't be playing,in which case I wouldn't be out here getting things stolen...So if anyone has a useful solution please feel free to let me know.

We always send someone to get the ball, as well as only having one ball out there for the whole team. Some teams not all have 3 to 4 balls out there, and then when most go missing. Try getting some real off color ball and then it's easier to see it walking away. Bright orange or pink might be good ones.

what should be done,, if someone sees someone taking a ball that is not theirs.. I've tried telling Dave that I've heard of people who are known to take balls (stealing).. but I don't want to point fingers since I have not seen them personally..

the point is some teams don't have a roster ten deep so they don't have players who can shag balls or they don't have a sideline cheering section they are just out there playing soccer. Also I wouldn't know if someone is taking a ball that is not theirs unless it was mine.

Simple solution, to avoid losing a ball, use the same one the whole game. It you have to chase it down, then that is what you have to do. It's just going to take time away from playing. That sucks, but if you are worried about losing your ball, this would solve the problem.

we dicused this at the weds. meeting.

if you can't have someone shagg balls, politely ask someone on the other team.

if anyone knows or sees someone stealing it, go to one of the staff out there. besides me there are 1 or 2 people in a blue or red staff shirt.

we will deal with it, since dave isn't out there.

this is no longer a rule. but out of sportsmanship, all teams should bring a ball to insure the game to go smoothly without chasing 1 ball.

if anyone spots who is taking the balls, or you see a team with it the following week please ask me or another staff to go help you with the situation.

p.s. - i've only caught kids taking the balls and the parents don't notice
