Any playoff trash talk?????
I think the afc is over rated!!!!
Norris won his division but had 6 ffts!

Lomax lost to a kid!

Seed for seed, I think the NFC would win every game!!! #1 vs #1...and so on & so on.

I agree to a certain extent but don't underestimate Norris. If he straightens his passing game out he will make a big push in the playoffs. Glenn and Lomax's offense have been struggling. Tom will be there for sure with good "D" and strong passing game.

NFC is rated right where they belong...at the bottom. There are definitely two different predominant styles of play in each conference. Most NFC teams have a WSH style of play Wait See & Hope, where there ain't really no pre-play planning. The exceptions that I've noticed are Cowboys,Giants,Seahawks,Bears and believe it or not, the Vikings, all whom seem to plan their plays in advance. In AFC,there is more deliberation in execution, which is why most AFC match-ups are fun to watch/play. My money's on AFC as eventual SB champ. The league records supports that AFC has won many more super bowls than the dull NFC.

Al said it.....it's open for everyone!

The Seahawks???? They don't set up their plays! The Vikes are running every play. So what skill does that take?
Even if it is a wait and see offense, I'd rather be lucky than good any day!
The NFC had a team go 10-6 and not make it. The AFC can not boast that. Who has the info on nfc vs afc games this year!?

49ers...super bowl or bust!!!

Yeah, the Titans lost to the Jaguars... they played a better game that day.

Howfully I find my mojo before I play those Ravens...always a close game between the two teams with the Titans barely winning this year and if not for a great defensive play last season...well you get the picture...

As for predictions....

in NFC

Giants have a good chance to knock off the 1-and-done 49ers at home with all the hoopla that comes with it........ final score G-men 28, 49ers 17

Packers vs. Cowboys ..... will the packers get under the skin of the cowboys??? Will the cowboys passing game return to top form??

I am picking the Packers in an upset.......

in the other AFC game, I like the Jags to upend the Patriots......

I added up the record of all games played between the NFC and AFC, not including forfeits. Overall the NFC had a 26 - 19 edge. The NFC was lead by the North which had an undefeated 11 - 0 record in their games against their AFC opponents.

See you in Philly next week.

Jamie, glad to see you online homie!!!! Thanks for picking me to advance, but you in the bowl next season????? I don't know about that one. LOL

Joe, that's some great info on the battle between the NFC & AFC. I do feel like the NFC has better overall coaches.

Looking at next season 2010....there are already some great match ups.

Win, or lose, this season has been great. I'm looking forward to playing my very good friend Joe on Saturday. I know I won't be able to talk trash or mess with Joe... way too much respect for him. I just want to play my best, and let the chips fall where they may.

Ed Scott made a lot of sense when he said that I couldn't make the bowl....then who would be the host!?! I would luv to be in the big show, but I think I'm better serving the league as a spectator of the game, and not in it!

Good luck to all the coaches playing the playoffs

Wildcard games:

Packers (14-2) at Cowboys (13-3)

Coaches Andrew Stewart (GB) & Al Harvey (Dal) had never played a game against each other…that all changed on Saturday. Andrew “the question” lived up to his nickname by questioning just about every play to the dismay of Coach Harvey.
The Boys used an aggressive defense to keep the high scoring Packers offense at bay. When Favre wasn’t being sacked, he completed short passes, but the Cowboys defense was always in the area and caused a few fumbles during the game. The Pack did draw first blood in the game, and held the early advantage as the Cowboys coach had to regain his composure. The score was tied at the half. Dallas scored the go ahead TD early in the 4th quarter. The Packers had a few chances to tie the score but the Dallas defense was able to preserve the victory 14-7. Next up Chicago Bears

Giants (12-4) at 49ers (14-2)

Joe Greco and CorEy Johnson have met before, 3 times in the NHFL, once in the BAM & once in the NEFL (last season, 49ers 26-18) with Greco holding a 3-2 advantage. Well you could throw all that history out the window. Coach Johnson was trying to exorcise his own demons (4 straight years of playoff failures)
The game couldn’t have went any better for the 49ers as they jumped out to a 12-0 lead (missed both PATS) those XP would come back to haunt the 49ers as the Giants mounted a comeback. With the 49ers leading 21-10 late in the 4th quarter E. Manning was intercepted by T. McDonald who returned the pick 32yds for a td to make it 18-10 with 1:48 left in the game. 49ers elected to go for a 2-pt conv but failed to convert (bad decision) Coach Greco took his team the length of the field, scored a td, and converted the 2-pt conversion. (Clutch)
Overtime! The G-men had 1st chance to end the game but had to punt. The 49ers moved the ball into FG range, but with no confidence in the kicking game they ran a play as time expired in OT….On to the 2nd overtime period. This time the Giants moved the ball, gaining yards on every play as they got closer to the red zone.
A short pass by Manning ended the marathon. Greco got his first NEFL playoff win, and Johnson’s monkey got a lot bigger. 24-18. Next up Atlanta Falcons

Jaguars (13-3) at Patriots (10-6)

William Chalmers and Jerry Fulton met earlier in the year with the game going to young Chalmers and his Jags. The Patriots had a rough season, but ended on a high note by knocking off the heavily favorite Titans in the final week of the season.
The Jags were up 14-0 by halftime, and that was the final score as the Patriots had no answers for the Jags. Next up Bengals.

Ravens (12-3-1) at Titans (13-3)

Lomax has the edge in this epic series of top coaches. These teams have faced each other once in each of the last 2 seasons with both games going to the Titans. Both games went down to the wire. This was the first time for these coaches to match wits in the playoffs tho. Coach Lomax, a veteran of EF had the look of a rookie at his first training camp. The pressure of the Ravens defense was a problem all game. The Titans never adjusted their blocking schemes, and had to play catch up the whole game. Even though they scored late to make things interesting, you just knew the Ravens had this game and it was theirs to lose…which they didn’t. Ravens 12-9 Next up Chargers.

NFC Divisional games:

Al (Cowboys) at Keith (Bears)

If you are a fan of great defense this was your game. The flow of the game, and the score all favored the under dog Cowboys coached by Al Harvey, but Big Keith showed he can win ugly also. The Bears kicked a 40yd FG mid way thru the first half, and that was the score late in the 4th when the Boys lined up for what would be 55yarder to tie the score with no time left on the clock. Coach Harvey didn’t feel confident, since this wasn’t his usual kicker. His feeling was correct, the kick sailed wide left and the Bears were on their way to the NFC Championship game.
Bears 3-0. Next up Falcons

Joe (Giants) at Brian (Falcons)

The G-men had to feel confident going into this game, they had given the Falcons their only loss of the regular season. But at the same time Falcons coach Brian Healey felt confident, he knew his passing game was off in that game. These coaches have met before with coach Healey winning in the BAM style and coach Greco taking the game earlier in the year. The Giants got off to a good start and was leading heading into halftime, but the Falcons were able to kick a short FG to tie the score 10-10. Atlanta got the ball to start the 3rd quarter, they used a time consuming drive and scored a TD. The Giants were not able to move the ball and had to punt. Now in the 4th quarter, the Falcons added to their lead by kicking a FG to make it 20-10 late in the 4th. The G-men kept fighting they scored on a long TD pass to make it 20-17. They failed to recover the ensuing onside and the Falcons were able to run out the clock.
Falcons 20-17. Next up Bears

AFC Divisional games:

William (Jags) at Norris (Bengals)

This was a battle of stark contrast. Coach McCraw is the eldest of the NEFL playoff coaches, and cast a very intimidating shadow. He has been around Philly EF for over a dozen years. Coach W. Chalmers is the youngest coach in these playoffs, is barely over a dozen years old, and this is his first NEFL season. Well youth was served as he showed this is “No Country for Old Men”. The Jags jumped out to an early lead, but the Bengals were mounting a comeback. The momentum went back to the Jags when they forced and recovered a fumble deep in the red zone. A few plays later they scored and made it a 2 possession game. The speed and loopers seemed to bother the Bengals offense as they had to keep extra players in to help block.
Jaguars 20-9. Next up Chargers

Glenn (Ravens) at Tom (Chargers)

This game will haunt Ravens coach Glenn Phoenix for a long time. Missed pass after missed pass doomed their chances of upsetting the defending champs. There’s a saying here in Philly…pressure bust pipes, and it looked like the pressure of the moment was getting to the Ravens. The opportunities were there, as the Chargers didn’t have their best stuff, but they had enough. Both teams kept constant pressure on the QB’s all day. The Ravens had the ball as time was running out. They got a man open, he may have scored, but we will never know because the pass was incomplete.
Chargers 7-3. Next up Jags
