| Twas the night before Christmas, And through Softball Nation, A new season is welcomed, With calm trepidation.
When what to my eyes Should suddenly appear? It's Santa, and a C Team, Dropping to play E-Ball this year!
"On Nocona, on Shaved Bat, On Longball and Ropes, We'll open the middle, We'll riddle these Dopes!"
They all swung one bat, It was shiny and pretty, And they all hit like Kings, When the fence was two-fitty.
Next day on the board, You've yet seen so much raggin'! "Santa's a cheat!" "Those Elves are Sandbaggin!"
"You've got to be kidding! Please tell me you're fooling! Arnie, what's your email? Please give us a ruling!"
The new year brings questions, New rulings and doubt. Is a homerun a homerun? Or is it an out?
Who's the best left handed shortstop? The best catcher for power? Who's the fastest outfielder? Who's the man of the hour?
Did you hear about the fight? It's all over the board, There was a collision at second, Some guy pulled a sword!
Oh, it's all in a day's work, I'm sure we'll be fine, And I wish you the best In 2009.
Here's to you and your family, I hope all turns out right, Happy Softball to all, And to all a good night!
