How does this work again? Am I typing? Oh, hello Coventry Softball!! Greetings from winter/spring training in sunny Florida! Here's my season preview!
*all predictions are based on what I know from last season and what I've heard from people I know and trust within the league*
Bat of the year: Miken Psycho
Bat compant of the year: Worth
Team to watch: A+
Player to watch: Jay "Musty" Mustavitz (SS A+)
Predictions of final standings:
1. PNA - What weighs 500 lbs, bats left handed, and has one and a half sets of teeth? Dutilly and Ernie Wright, 2 reasons I think the PNA has the tools in place to run the table this season and be the first undefeated team in (help me out Smitty) years! Any team can be beaten, but it'll take some serious hitting and perfect defense to beat the big red machine.
2. VFW - Artie lost some great players, but is still loaded, but knowing him he'll stock up on some ringers because he hates to lose.
3. Botelho's - I hear they didn't lose anyone, so why wouldn't Smitty and his boys still be a top team?
4. Harris Bar and Grille - I'm hearing good things in the rumor mill.
5. Chris Moulton Construction - A great team lost no one and added some good players. As long as they have a full healthy squad every week I don't see why thet can't finish top 5.
6. On the Roch's - Same issue as CM. If Mertog can get the same good players every week, they're a contender.
7. Patriot Oil - My buddies over at Patriot may lose Kirby, but they learned last year how to win. They drop one spot from last year, but still give teams a hard time.
8. A+ - Gopher and the young players he brings with him are just enough to make A+ the sleeper playoff team this year.
9. Del Padre Landscaping - I'm hearing conflicting things about Mike's bunch. So I'm keeping them right where they were last year.
10. Village Pub - Pub will be pub. They'll steal some wins, but not enough to make the playoffs or move up in the standings.
11. Shamrock Financial - Haven't heard a thing
12. Eaton - They're a good group of guys from when I saw them play in fall ball. Knocked a good Christo's Pizza out of the playoffs. Their defense is their achilli's heel. If they can improve on it, they'll surprise some teams.
13. Wyld Stallyns - No one can argue they're getting better every season. They haven't added anyone that I know of, but they move up in the standings due to losses by other teams.
14. Club Jogues - They lost one of the best pitchers in the league, the heart of their team in Gopher, and a bunch of young talented players. They're sinking.
15. Central Coventry Firefighters - Fun bunch of guys, but if they haven't made any pick ups, they don't move out of the cellar.
*16. Crowe Bar - I heard they don't even have a team, so here they are.
Well that about does it. Good to be back. For anyone who's curious what I've been up to, I've been playing in an ASA(crappy umps in Florida too) league once a week. We won our E division championship last season and have been moved to our A division for this season. I'm going to try to get back up to Rhode Island to play this summer. If not to play, then I'll at least be up for a weekend to catch the game of the week and challenge Demonti to another Homerun Derby.

Dolce and Gabana ..... Yeah. Sure. That's what the guy on the street corner (yes the same one he bought a hooker from) told him when he showed him the inventory of fine designer frames he had cleverly hanging inside his overcoat.
And Ryman... that should have said 440lbs, 1.25 gloves and 1 arm. My glove is a full but dutilly's counts as 1/4 even if you were being generous and between us you can't even make up one good arm.

Rockstar, right after I posted this my most reliable source for coventry softball rumors sent me a lengthy email telling me a bunch of juicy tid bits that would have been helpful during prediction time. He told me about the huge (possibly) Botelho's pickups. Though substantial, I'm going to stick with my standings as is. The only picks that are really up in the air is Crowe dependings on if they field a team at all, and from what I hear about teams dropping out and/or mergins, Harris and DelPadre could switch places in my standings. It's tough to make predictions going on rumors alone.

5:00 AM Protein Shake and a Banana 5:20 AM Treadmill for 10 minutes on Fat Burn 6:00 AM 1 Cup of Oatmeal measured dry with 1 splenda 8:00 AM Lowfat Yogurt (Vanilla) with a handfull of granola 10:00 AM 1 scoop protein powder and skim milk 10:30 AM GYM 11:30 AM 1 scoop protein powder with water and 2 scoops of afterglow 1:30 PM 8 oz of steak and 1/2 sweet potato 3:30 PM Turkey on salad with balsamic vinegar 4:30 PM Cardio and GYM 6:30PM Protein Bar 8:30 PM Chicken/turkey/steak with small salad
If I need to snack or eat I'll throw another protein shake in there or a protein bar.
Plus I quit smoking so I'm ready to murder something.

NO SNACKS after 7:30 NO SUGAR ALL DAY LONG.....NONE
