TOPIC: did the softball player insurance well run dry? |

| just was wondering if the well for selling insurance to softball players in our league has run dry. it seems botello has tryed to steal my tournament team sponsor from me for sunday morning. i guess bob no longer wants to sponsor his own team and felt like sandy bottom would be a good replacement. apparently the economy has hit him hard too, understandable. but if i get screwed out of a sponsor for tournaments so botello doesnt have to sponsor his sunday morning team when i see 2 guys from his whole fuckin team in there all winter and our whole tourny team has been faithful his entire existence in the town of coventry and frequent his bar 3 or 4 times a week and spend hundreds of dollars a week there then some one is gonna get there fuckin head split open. oh, and have a nice day.

| I am sure that it wasn't anybody's intention to fuck up your sponsorship. I was as active as anyone in trying to get them to sponsor and had no idea that it would impact anybody else. In fact, I was told on numerous occasions to talk to you about what a good sponsor they were. That gave me the impression that you/your team were all set with other sponsors. I am positive that Bob wasn't trying to screw anyone. I think that I spent a sponsorships worth there in the last month anyway. Goodwin is gay.

| I thought Bob was retired? I heard he is looking for a place to play that has extra equipment for him to use. All aside Mike, thats not LB4 style....heck he won a prize from my raffle and puts it right back into the team/league. I think there might be something missing in the story. Plus he is LOADEDDDDDDDD$$$$$$$$$

| i hear ya bry, im not accussing anybody of anything or threatening anybody, im just simply promising that if i get fucked out of a sponsorship somebody will pay. i know you spend alot of your time there and you and jeffc was the two i was implying about who go in there. from what i was told from some of my connections over there, its a shady deal no doubt. another thing is that im kinda curious why i wasnt asked personally if i was seeking sponsorship of any kind after me bringing the sandy in to fall ball and artys turkey trot. as ian knows, all of trust tourny team payed a shit load for tourneys last year and for the worlds and it gets very expensive when you have very few sponsors and you pay out of pocket for everything. i know you have spent hundreds in there but it by no means comes any where near our tens of thousands. 15 people every other nite for the last 2 years, do the math.

My memory might be failing me but I am quite sure that they approached me..that is, you know that I am friends with Liz and they offered us a small donation..which I did not yet accept MD..and of course, now will not accept. And I agree with your logic..you spent all winter there hanging out and if he sponsors just one and only one team it should be you. We arent Dionne here in 2006 ..stealing Bims away from Ian. Which is how I came to sponsor the team in the first place. No harm intended Mr Mike. And, I dont think that you have ever even given anybody a black eye...well, any GUY anyway...so, stop with the head splitting talk.

| Holy Shit LB4LB that is a english lesson. adjectives, adverbs, compound words, and quadruple negatives. Ian may have thrown up in his mouth a little bit...or maybe not. Not to butt my nose in business that I'm not completely schooled in but, I think your comparing apples and oranges with Dionne. Now I understand that their is plenty to say about him, but I think calling him a sponser theif is slightly unfair. He can't be pinned for that whole scenario, there was a change in ownership, and from what he says "Scott Crowe didn't want to sponser them because they don't frequent his bar, and that Dionne's group was a better match for his sponsership." Now I would say it worked out for both teams, you and your team have been consistantly great and Scott Crowe has a team that a majority of the guys eat and drink at. Without being a hypocrite, I don't want to side either way, but I don't think Josh should be getting the verbal beat down for the sponsership issue.

| slezak... your post was accurate and josh and i are all set. it was the right business move for scott and as it turned out for our team as well. we have enjoyed bob's sponsorship and also enjoyed being sunday afternoon free agents going to whatever bar we wanted.

| FYI, that wasn't my first ever Coventry Softball game. My first game I played against Smitty's Bim's team(don't know if you were on it) in the regular season. Hit a ball damn near the rocks a fish hill and then almost got tossed at the dish. What a slow fat fuck huh? Hey gotta get that memory in once a season. haha Just trying to stick up a little for Dionne, not sure why, but sometimes I don't think he has any stones to stick up for himself or his decisions
