Things I can’t wait for in the 2009 Season:

1. Pulling up to BP and hearing the stories from the night before and non-stop trash talk

2. Travis randomly yelling “LINE DRIVE!!!” as someone (or himself) is hitting in the cage.

3. Three of Mau’s first fifteen warm up throws being a minimum of 20 feet off target.

4. Jolly strolling up to the field on a day he’s starting, tossing 10-15 warmup pitches, and declaring himself good to go for the day. And he is.

5. Travis racing somebody back to the dugout from stretching in center field.

6. Shagging fly balls in pregame warm-ups. (Maybe my favorite practice activity in any sport ever.)

7. The crowd and atmosphere at the ballpark for a Friday or Saturday night game in Haugen.

8. Talking energy drinks with Thad in the dugout. Specifically, Blue Demon and Khaos.

9. Rich’s “Switch to Water” text messages and the barrage of strange responses he gets back.

10. Smearing on way more eye black than would ever be necessary.

11. Team Shotgun.

12. Standing on the 3rd base line in Haugen on a sunny Sunday afternoon, a light breeze blowing, the national anthem playing and thinking, “Damn, we’re a lucky group of guys to be out here right now, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”

#4 is my favorite..... you forgot to mention that when he does show up for those 10-15 pitches it's usually 7 minutes before the game starts.

11. Mau showing up 45 minutes after everyone else not talking for another half hour and the first thing he says is, "dude, I didn't go to work today"

13. Howard asking "who's got a lighter" I'm down to my last camel...in the first inning.

14. Big Dan using the Babe Ruth Strategy, a hot dog per inning..."I'm hungry"

15. Showing up at the Seeley ballpark and seeing the effects of a "team campout."

16. Text message response back from Mauer today, asking if he will be ready for some late inning pitching this year, "I've been throwing old fruit at work, ha ha, trying to get my accuracy back!" Stay away from the grapefruit Mauer.

18. The first game when the walk up songs get their trial by fire. I though Mau had the dumbest walk up song on earth last year, then we heard it in a game, and it was actually pretty sweet. I don't think that song ever came on without somebody laughing.
