Found out tonight at fire training that we won't be done with training on Saturday till mid afternoon. I can have my wagons ready to be loaded with sod, but I won't be there till some time after 2 or 3.

What work can be done in the morning on Saturday? I'm thinking that the foul territory can be dug up and the dirt can be moved to the playing surface.

After that, I think moving the sod will take up most of the day.

So, are there any plans that will be set in stone?

A lot of work was done already today. The ground 4' outside of the foul lines was excavated down 2" and leveled, that soil was added to the infield to crown it a bit. The lip around the infield was also cut. The next step is to roto-till outside of the foul lines to loosen that soil. I think Jay was going to borrow a tiller and that can be done in the morning if he has time. Ug will be available at about 12:30 with the sod cutter at the high school. When we find out who is available at that time we can begin cutting and loading sod. I have 2 hay wagons(drop in pin to pull them) and a 20' car trailer(2" ball hitch) ready to go at my place. I will not be done till 2 or 3 so we need someone to take those trailers in so we can start cutting and loading. Call Ug 651-4277, more later.

Me again. Ug told me that we're getting 1-2000 dollars of sod for $0 if we get it harvested before they start working on the athletic fields in a week or so. Once they start working they'll fence it all off and we'll get nothing. Ug also said that this is going to be very labor intensive, so if you can possibly help, be there. The 2 hay wagons that I have are hooked together and can be pulled with one truck (but not very fast). See you all as soon as I can get off.

Well, we cut and hauled a ton or two of sod today. Tomorrow entails starting at the Brill field tomorrow at 11:00 sharp to start laying the sod. Any and all hands on deck so that we can get it done as quickly as possible.

Weather looks good. Only a 30-60% chance of rain with a 100% chance of us getting wet.
