| I bet we do. Could use a little drizzle out there to keep it interesting. Odds will be 5-1 we play.

| I checked site prior to leaving house. No word of cancelled games until I got to park. Fields look great so I don't know why they were cancelled.

| Here's why. Earlier in the day I was getting conflicting reports, some were saying we should cancel, some were saying it might be ok. So we waited. At 4pm it looked like it was going to be ok. At 6pm one of our umpires arrived at the field and told us it was unsafe. There are three groups who can make this determination, Umps, Rec Staff, Parks Staff. If ANY one in those groups says it's unsafe, then we do not want to put the City in a position of liabailty.
The news was put on the website and it was broadcast on Twitter by 6:05pm.
We talked at the managers' meeting and discussed that Twitter was the best way to find out late breaking information like this on the way to a game. We do have 31 followers, but most of them are not softball, but some are.

| Wow, someone seriously came and checked it out? We were there at ED2 at 5:45 and we were warming up on the DRY field. I even sat in the grass and my pants didn't get wet. There were guys over on ED1 practicing as well.
The twitter thing is awesome, BTW - I got the text message at 6:20.

| Lightning. When our first ump arrived there was lightning very close.
Again we have to err on the side of caution. For the people who rush up here from some place, Twitter would be the best for you, but team managers, you play softball for fun, so if weather cancels a game, do something fun. Go bowling together, have a pizza party, Lazer tag. I'd say go to that Giant Swinging thing at Scandia, but that was closed as well.
