You can tell most of the bitching is coming from someone who hasn't seen a lot of ball on mon-wed,so why are they speaking. Makes me wonder? I haven't missed a night yet and faced them all, other then one time in which I wonder if it wasn't called just to throw me under the train. The pitching has been just fine. Bennie,Mikey Q,have have taken the time to work on making things legal, and have done a good job.Nick,Clark,Ken all have that on the line delivery, in which facing all of them I saw nothing wrong.Bennie even had to come in and get Clark off the hook and we couldn't get a run the rest of the game and did it so legal it made my beer taste like shit after the game. So who's ever bitching about pitching time to find something else I am sure YOU will.

Seeing as how we had Ambrose and Dolak for our games both with Jeremy Clark pitching, and only called twice in 2 games...and was explained in great detail what the rule is, i say they are all legal. maybe you should do a little research on your own. and by the way, why don't you leave your name you coward!

Groove,

Per some previous posts, the bitching about not allowing sling and/or League officers determining who is legal or illegal rather than umpires came from a well known manager who plays on Mon - Wed. so I'm not sure why your first post is implicating those that don't play on those nights as doing the bitching.

Benson,

I understand your point about not posting a name when calling someone out individually. However, due to the personal attacks that happen on this site, I prefer to remain anonomous when posting. I don't verbally attack anyone individual on this site but do bring up different points of view and opinions for discussion. If that's not acceptable then I will no longer post to this site. It has nothing to do with being "scared", I prefer not to make myself a target for abuse or ridicule. The last post was not by any means meant to attack Groove or Dewey and hopefully was not seen as such. I don't always agree with their opinions, but respect them both.

Just wondering how my name got in to this?

I have never bitched about not being a sling league. Not once!!!! Read the posts....I just said its not as hard to learn to sling as most people think and that it might be one way to combat the amount of really good hitters in this league.

My stance has been the same for 5 years. I am in favor of sling unless it means losing teams. And there are a number of teams that threaten to leave the league if its sling (as opposed to learning to do it).

However, I do bitch about how people hold league officals responsible for umps not calling it. Also the notion that certain people are tabbed illegal without given the opportunity to do it correctly is a joke.

To me, thats the same as bitching to league officals because F-Rod from Bonnells is trying to frame pitches that are just outside of the zone. Trying to get his pitcher a call.......

Dewey: Hey Groove, this is bull, Frankie keeps framing pitches that are two inches outside and the umps is calling them strikes

Groove: What can I do about it?

Dewey: Ban Frankie from catching, it's cheating and he is getting an advantage.

Groove: Shouldnt the ump just call it a ball?

Dewey: Well he didnt so I think league officals should step in and do something.

Sound ridiculous?

F around lay around............... We are all just playing a fun game called softball. It's about having fun memories with one another like leaving some poor guy in a tornado while his driving partner goes on a date it's all good..... Just enjoy the time you have playing this game because some day you will wake up old and bald and ask what the hell happen over the past 15 years LOL..... Enjoy the game !! Pitchers will pitch and hitters will hit and people will bitch that is just the fact of life.... Hey how about a league tournament at the end of the year to raise some money for next year to lower the cost so we can get more teams to play ??? Any takers on that?

It's not hard fool...your IP address appears next to every post.

19....you know that was just a mild rain...kinda like a sprinkle and the weather in New Jersey is unpredictable in Aug buddy.

There was talk of having a league tournament but not letting league teams in it.

Go figure

Erie should host a Labor Day Tourney.

I agree that Erie should host a Labor Day Tourney. There haven't been many good tournaments this year, and there is no sense "donating" our money to the ASA or NASF or whatever they say they are having in Meadville that weekend. I would like an excuse to spend another weekend in Erie.

hey out of towner meadville doesn't have anything labor day weekend. ASA has Nationals Labor Day weekend and has so since 10 Man was first recognized by the ASA as a true National in 2001, see ASA website for reference of ASA results. Drifton hosts a NASF "A" tourney the weekend before Labor Day. We cant get teams to play in Erie for the Folmar tourney. Unfortunatley the only way a tourney in Erie will happen Labor Day weekend is if it co-ed slo pitch or that no glove game they play at hess.

If Sharon can host a 12 team tournament last year on Labor Day weekend, Im sure Erie can also host one.

I know its late now but I bet somebody could get some of those teams to come up. Most teams dont want to donate to ASA to play in a tournament that has a fancy name.
