Coventry’s Men’s Softball 1st Annual Softball Draft
*** 6 teams of 13
*** $20 per player
*** Live draft
*** Pizza/ Beer provided (2 beers)
*** Double Elimination
*** Field’s TBD
Saturday before the actual Tournament, we will hold a LIVE draft of the player’s that have signed up to participate. All players will have to agree to play for the 6 manager’s without resistance. You will also be able to have 1 alternant if there was to be an issue before the game.
Each player will sign a form stating where they play and I will provide there stat’s at the draft from what is listed on the website to the entire manager’s
So far I have 3 Manager’s….Myself, Rick Leaman, Tommy Cornacelli…I need 3 more
If I get more then 74 players, we will look at another team
A few other rules will need to be addressed before the actual DRAFT but it just a start to some thing.
After umpire fees, Pizza, Beer, and Softball’s are paid for…All remaining money’s will go to help a Local family at Christmas time. I will not keep 1cent

| This is a great opportunity for all the personalities in the league to get together and have a good time at a local tournament that benefits a great cause. I personally urge all the players, especially the ones always posting to step up and participate. Those players that wished to play on different teams now have a chance to experience other teams/players. I hope everyone will take part in either the tournament or make try to contribute somehow. Players and coaches are needed so take part. HODDE this may be your only chance to win. HAHA just kidding. I talked to Gopher about this idea I thought it a elaborate an attempt to scout/draft future free agents, but after talking to him for awhile it is just a great genuine idea. I look forward to this tournament and hope to see many of the areas softball players helping out children in need at Christmas time. This also could be a good opportunity for Coventry Softball to grow and expand with other players from different leagues participating!

| i will pick a team each coach should donate $50 for the chance to draft. gopher look at the tourney schedules alot of big ones coming up after season. the worlds start labor day week and go on for about a month. the week after the finals would be ideal .the turkey trot will be the week after fall ball or two weeks after fall ball

| eddie can only be an umpire if you have an elevated chair (kind of like a tennis line judge) otherwise he gets screened out by players, the bases, and ant hills.

I agree Hinkse...there's alsways a good crop of player's in the 3rd round.
Working with Ian right now to find the best date to have this.
What do you think about a live draft at the PNA, with a "War Room" of sort's...
or would you rather do a "ONLINE" draft were Ian can post as they are drawn via the website.
Then we can have a get-together after the Final game the day of the event?

| Live draft this way.... Ernie and Ryno cant burn me and hit it over my head. Its all because of Ryno's new beard i was in aww of it. I cant grow one, for the playoffs ( if we make it ) ill have to go out and buy a stick on beard haha
Playing 14 innings sunday vs PNA = 3 Dollars in gas to get there... Running down Ryno and EW's Homeruns over my head = 5 pounds lost... Yelling "Hey Nice Inning Boys Lets Go Hit" (After only 2 outs) Having Broz yell to me from the PNA bench " You Gotta Get All 3 Outs First" = Priceless hahaha

| Live draft is the way to go, it could be almost like a banquet where all who wish can get together, drink beer and bullshit. Also be a good chance for Gopher to meet the rest of his free agents and wrap them up before Hodde sinks his claws into them.

| what i told gopher was that i could put the chat room feature back up. we could do the draft on an "off" night like a wednesday and ill post the picks in the chat room.
then gopher can have his big party the night before the tourny (a friday or saturday) and the teams will be picked and the trash talking can begin.
or the party could be after the finals (the sat or sun afternoon)
i would just hate to see the smack talk at a live draft turn into a smackdown when someone crosses the line

| I will be stopping at all fields this Sunday to have people pay and sign up. I am going to keep signing people till I get the 72 needed.
If this week you can pay your fee and sign up it will be best. There has been a lot of discussion about this type of tournament around other leagues and I have been asked if they can play and told them Coventry first but if it gets close I will take them
Thinking about maybe taking 6 outsider's and give them a ball with a number on it and that will be the team they go to?....Just an idea
