| Isn't it a little late to be adding people to the roster? Especially additions that play for other teams? Just a thought.

| Hey fan,
First of all, thanks for your fandom, and also for your being in the stands-ness.
Fan, you are correct, it IS too late to add players to rosters. However, if a player was on the roster at the July 1st deadline, they don't have to begin playing on July 1st. They are eligible for playoffs as long as they are on the roster turned in by July 1st, and compete in three league contests, no matter what part of the season.
As for the individual I am guessing that you speak about, he is one of a handful of players in the league who compete for a team (once again guessing the team) that is not in our league nor in the WBA and does not compete for our state tournament.
He is completely legal, thanks for checking though.

| That answer seemed a bit cryptic. Care to enlighten the rest of us "fans in the stands" as to who we're talking about, his current address, when he signed the roster, and how you came to acquire him?
Also didn't you guys already have a full roster? That isn't meant to be read as an accusation, just a clarifying question.

| I was a bit "cryptic" because Fan in the Stands didn't offer up a whole lot of info about him/herself, so I would have at least liked to know who I'm talking to before I get into specific details with them.
Fan, who are ya?
Kirb, would you also like his social security number, ACT score, dating status, and astrological sign?
You may not have meant to be accusational, but with the rapid fire of questions you'd like answered, it seems an awful lot like an interrogation.
I'm guessing the guy Fan in the Stands is referring to is Steve Basty. I don't have his exact address or when he signed the roster because I'm not responsible for that. I know that I heard he'd eventually be playing for us about a month and a half ago, and I'm guessing Trav talked to him because they both play for Exeland from time to time.
You guys should go stir up trouble somewhere else, at least for this week anyway. This week and weekend is meant to be one of celebration.

| Hey now, lets cool down. I was just messing around with you. I would never want to detract from your guys' tribute to Howie. He was a friend of the whole league and we all miss him.
I'm sure you guys kept things within the letter of the law getting the new guy, it's just that any mid/late season acquisitions are bound to raise an eyebrow, especially when most people haven't heard of him.
I don't know who "fan" is and i assure you we're not in cahoots, I was just curious and having some fun.

Came across a bit accusational to me. I agree with Deluxe, I've heard talk of him playing for us for at least the last month and a half.

| Again, settle down guys. Derc, of course you heard of him playing for you for a month, you're on the team.
All I'm saying is that to the rest of the league it's going to look like you went out and got a ringer. I know you guys and trust you did what's proper and legal. I was just curious and messing with you. Lets all take a deep breath. I don't even know the rules about exactly when the rosters have to be signed and how many are allowed on and if people can be taken off anyway, so whether you had a full roster or not may or may not even be relevant.

| My bad, Kirb, I forgot for a second that it's hard to read context in text messages. Just a little on edge this week.
What I meant to respond with is:
The new player is from Nashville, plays for the AAA club there, lives nowhere near Wisconsin. He is on performance enhancing drugs, was not on the roster July 1 and is pretending that he is Matt Lundberg for the rest of the season. He hates puppies, clubs baby seals for a hobby, and also enjoys stealing candy from babies and small children.
Suck it fan.

| No reason to settle down, no reason to tell us to settle down. My message shouldn't have given the vibe that I was fired up, and I'm not going to take a deep breath.

| Easy now. As already stated, when you pick a guy up from another team at the end of the year no doubt it is going to shake things up a bit. Just an observation made from the bleachers behind home plate.
