| Just wondering if we are ever going to find out the format for the playoffs. We are 9 weeks into the season and nobody has a clue. Why are we dragging are feet this is something that should have been answered before teh season started.

| Not sure what division you are refering to but I will attempt to help.
Top 3 teams (Bonnells, Braendels, and Dempsey) will play in the Major Division playoffs. Bonnells will have a first round bye.
Bottom 3 A division teams (Red Fox, Jimmy Z, and Folmars) will join the 3 B league teams to have a six-team bracket to make up the A playoffs.
C league teams have their own bracket but I dont know the format within that bracket.

| I thought before the season began, the final word was 4 teams in the "A" division. Also can you post the games for July 22, wednesday. Thanks.

| Well since this wasn't taken care of prior to the season like every other year before this here is 3 scenerio's
Scenerio 1
Top 3 A teams play each other top A gets a bye,
Bottom 3 A play B with A getting 1,3,5 and B 2,4,6
1 and two get bye's while the rest play best of 3 series.
Scenerio 2
Top 4 A play best of 3 series
Bottom 2 A and 3 B teams play
Bottom A and Bottom B play a series play in or 3 game either was,
Top A is 1 seed plays play in winner 2 and 3 play
Scenerio 3
All A and B teams make playoffs with seedings go as common teams played.
1 play 8, 2 play 7, 3 play 6 and 4 play 5 all 3 game series
I also would like to call a meeting before the season ends so we can make a call on this. I would hate with just a few games left and some of them meaningful to see teams sandbag games in order to get a higher or lower seed.
Sunday at 1 Bootleggers or Sidelines or Jimmy Z's or even the fields. It would only take a minute to vote.
Maybe the Commissioner and step up and make this happen?

| Scenario 3 wouldn't work because there are 9 teams, you could have bottom A and bottom B have a one game play-in to face the top seed

| Scenario 1 makes the most sense because that seems to be where the division of talent exists. The bottom 3 teams of A and the B division seem to be pretty close talentwise.

| as for the no name poster...it was taken care of before the season. talked with groove last night to confirm...it is top 4 teams in A with the bottom 2 going with b and c doing the same as usual with top 4 and bottom 4

| I talked to Groove last night as well but I was told it's top three in the Major Division....which is what was decided on at the meeting.
He mentioned the idea of changing it to top 4 in the A division but I dont think we can make a mid-season change unless the 4th place team agrees to move up to play Bonnells in the first round.
Groove was saying that he thought Red Fox (who I believe is currently 4th) should play in A because they added some guys this year.
This is the problem when we decide on a playoff format by "predicting" how good teams are going to be. I think people assumed Bonnells, Braendels, and Dempsey would be far ahead of Red Fox and Jimmy Z so they came up with this idea of a three team Major bracket.
Well it turns out that Jimmy Z and Red Fox have both had very good seasons and have proved they can hang with those other teams. But I dont think we can make a mid-season change to the playoff format unless Jimmy Z or Red Fox agrees to play Bonnells.
Futher evidence that this system of trying to weed out the good teams into thier own bracket is a stupid idea.
Keep making fun of big ball but this nonsense of excluding teams doesnt happen and people dont complain.

| Dewey your first post was correct. Right or wrong this format was decided before Hilltop dropped out of the league and Red Fox picked up a handful of their players. We as a league had thought the gap between the top three and the bottom three would be greater. When you try to predict something it doesn't always turn out the way you think it will especially when things change after the fact. I do not believe that the league started out with the intention to exclude any team, in fact it was just the opposite. If I remember correctly there were two reasons for the bracket playoff system that we have currently. One, when Bonnells was voted back into the league it would give the bottom half of A the chance to play in the playoffs and two, it was a way to keep those teams showing up at the end of the year when under the old system they would have been eliminated from playoff contention. We had problems with a couple of A teams that forfeited a handful of their remaining games when they weren't in contention any longer. There is no doubt we have a mess on OUR hands but these decisions were made to try to help the league. I know this wasn't an answer but hopefully it can help lead to one.

| It has to be Top 3, we cant change it now.
At the time of this decision, Hilltop was out of the league. Otherwise there would have been 7 teams in the A division (or at least 4 in the B division).
Also, it doesnt matter what roster moves were made. What if one of the B teams picked up 8 studs on June 14th? Would they have been moved up to the A division? I am guessing not.
The format cannot be changed now unless the 4th place team agrees to be moved up to play Bonnells.
Just curious...who is going to finish 4th anyway....Red Fox or Jimmy Z?

| The race for 4th place looks like this...
Jimmy Z's is 7-10 with one games vs Sidelines
Red Fox is 6-6 on the standings page plus they have two unreported losses to Bootlegger's and a win over Braendel's which gets them to 7-8. This leaves two unreported games vs Dempsey and Lombardi's plus one remaining make up game vs SE Turners/CM Miller on Monday 7/27.
Red Fox must finish one game ahead of Jimmy Z's since the head-to-head tiebreaker is 2-1 in favor of Jimmy Z's.

| I havent gotten it to Benson yet but Dempsey beat Red Fox and I am not sure about Bonnells vs Red Fox.
Sounds like it will be a close race. And again, whoever wins it is supposed to be in the B playoff Bracket.

If the board has that kind of power....maybe they should have a 9-team bracket for A playoffs. Since supposed B teams have good records vs supposed A teams....seems like a good idea.

| can everyone please stop calling us bonnells. we are a far cry from being as good as those teams were. id be jumping at the bit to play us in the playoffs this yr.
