| 1st off, Congrats to Morici's for winning everything in sight this year...
But no thanks to those who voted for No Playoffs, because of them the Season is now essentially over...Don't worry, the games will be played provided more teams don't forfiet because they don't care and have absolutely nothing to play for but after Morici's 2-0 win the other night over 2nd Place Zucca, things have basically been decided with weeks to go in the regular season...
The games will be OK and people will have fun and drink afterwards but there is no actual motivation left, the people at the end of last year's meeting killed all that...Hopefully more people will be at this year's meeting and vote the Playoffs back in...
How much fun would it be to see if Morici's could go all the way through the Playoffs unbeaten like the Patriots tried to do a couple years back in the NFL??...And having teams fight for the 4th Playoff Spot??...Or the last Playoff Spot to get in??...
Anything can happen in the Playoffs and usually does...Shruty's almost beat eventual Champion Zucca losing 9-8 last year...What about a couple years back that 12-Inning Thriller between Flynn's and Zucca in the Playoffs??...What about Last Call's great run to get to the Finals a couple years ago when nobody gave them a shot??...
At the very least, what about the great 3-Game Playoff between Fat Jacks and Millenia last year with the 3rd game being played in front of what was (For Hackett Park Softball) a packed House??...None of those things can happen this year...This is not taking anything away from Morici's who deserves major accolades for their season but the thrill is gone...
All that's left is to see if Morici's can finish undefeated and they will be heavily favored in all their remaining games except one and they'll nstill be favored to win that one...Other than that, The last couple weeks mean nothing...Hopefully people will learn from this and never make this mistake again.
