In the final event of the season, Jeremiah Gillin expertly navigated the slick Speedway 94 oval Monday night to take the main event. Gillin got a jump on fellow front row starter Jordan Arnold and led from start to finish, as the Weikert Livestock no. 29 was never challenged. The win was Gillin's third in seven races this season, earning him the series points title and the coveted Budweiser Cup. "I put a good swing on it," said Gillin in victory lane. In earlier action, Larry Baumgardner slipped by Scott Meckley with one lap to go to take the prelim race. The race was marred by a nasty accident on the first lap, when first-time starter Keith Bevenour was hooked by a rookie invader and flipped violently in turn one. "I put a good swing on it," said Bevenour after being pried from the tangled mess. Meanwhile, with the rest of the field clearly gunning for him, local hotshoe Micah Aumen was relegated to a last place finish in both events, which landed him the Micah Aumen Award for Pathetic Performance by a Princess. "Racing with these clowns was just a tune up for me," said Aumen, who left immediately after the race for Australia to take part in the upcoming Hawaiian Nationals. "Based on their driving skills, they'll all end up flipping burgers or tossing salads."
