| Minnetonka 8 Commanding Edge 4
I Believe Minnetonka hit 5 solo Homeruns, and 10 or 11 for the tourney. Props to them, they have always been the best hitting team in the state but really believe the state tournament needs to move from Dunning as it takes away from the game and purpose of moving to wooden bat baseball. We might as well hit with aluminum like back in the day. Every team has the same chance of hitting it out but cmon!! Good luck to the remaining teams and am not taking anything away from Minnetonka or any other team hitting home runs but lets see if we can change the venue for 2010.

| Agreed and I have another idea or two.
Why not change back to aluminum if teams are going to swing composite bats. Some clubs like Tonka and Park are swinging real wood that as we all know can break.
Other clubs have one bat in the rack from Sport Mart, one relatively legit bat and then three composites that 75% of the team shares.
I saw one game in particular that if the club was not getting lucky running into pitches with poor approaches and bad swings they would not have gotten the hits they did......they also would have broken several bats which would have equated to some of those hits not being so.
The only thing I do beleive is whether two teams are playing at Midway or on a practice infield with wiffle balls if one club can hit jacks and the other can't then oh well for the team who cant.
The thing that is annoying is when a team really cant hit but gets hits because they swing composites thinks they can hit when in the grand scheme of things if they swung real wood they would go broke trying to fund the season....
.....yet when they win with composite hits they think they are good.
Lastly perhaps Tonka and Park should stick with using their big league wood and let the other teams go back to aluminum. That would even the playing field.

| Agreed, everyone plays on the same field, however, we hit five tonight and for sure 3 would have been out at any ballpark.. Number 17, how's it feel baby....different game isn't it..metal vs. wood. Reality check.......

Maybe Park should think about switching to composite since the real big league wood bats didn't seem to get the job done this year.

| Side of Sauce cup i can't resist and I don't even know what team you play for but I could certainly take a guess.
Re: stating Park "not getting it done this year" is a prime example of you being one of the guys who does not get it.
Park's record, tourney history ect speaks for itself the past 20 years or so. However you not getting it dictates that you fail to show respect.....
.....The good teams don't care if they get respect they figure they will earn it and do so by winning games year in and year out whether that be state titles or not does not matter.
Making a stupid comment about not getting it done is a prime example of "not getting it" and not showing respect where respect is due.
Even the worst team at any level can beat the best team at that same level once in a while because it is baseball.
Just like last year when Tonka did not even come close to making a run.......

| Honestly have no problem with Park and yeah obviously they are still a good team but having to hear about Park this and Park that sure does get old...especially from a guy who isn't even in the league anymore

All you haters. There is nothing wrong with Dunning. We loved the venue considering it was only 3 miles from my house! For all of you who think Dunning is a band box, suck it up and pitch better or hit better. We all have the same offensive opportunity as the other team. I understand the gripe but get over it. Sorry Parade costs $600 a game. Until you have a solution....ssshhhhhh! Each team has the same opportunity to do the same if not better. Did you hit any at Dunnning??????? If you want a say on the venue, brackets, or whatever show up at the meeting in October to discuss, its not a secret. Do not bich about issues after the fact. Its like rain on a Saturday, not fun.... I'll post the date...show up
Always happy to be involved, hope you are too, if you want a say. Congrats on a great tourney by Class A. Winner coming soon.
be well and get involved, CE Coach Ray
