The best thing a slow pitch team can do is a practice of constant HIT, HIT, HIT. Even if your guys just get on base for the big bombers... slow pitch is all about high scoring. Your pitchers or defense won't help much. An outfield of Hicks, Barry Bonds, and Manny Ramirez would be better than an outfield with Torii Hunter, Ichiro, and Vladimir Guerrero in slow pitch.

Because Hicks, Bonds, and Ramirez are ALL-HIT, NO-FIELD.

The best advice I can give you as far as defense is that you do want your fastest players in the outfield. There will be plenty of popups for them to catch.

Don't worry AT ALL about your pitcher or catcher. Infield defense isn't that big of a deal. Just make sure you have a good first baseman.

You want to lose? Play the Unionville Arms, Bad plays, dumb plays, weird decisions, drama, and random home runs. This team had it all, even a double-dose of father/ son. Gotta love those guys! REAL Ballplayers!

Proactiv - I don't usually get on the forum but this had to be responded to!! As for your infield comments. You're on crack. You need a solid infield to take away those grounders that end up demoralizing the team. Infield defense wins you games. And "don't worry about the Pitcher"!! Now the Heroin is kicking in. If your pitcher can't get the ball over the plate you are going to lose - BIG.

Gotta go get ready to shag some fly balls at batting practice now - apparently I need the practice.

Hicksey out.

What happened to the potent Arms team last night? When you play a real team the result is inevitable.

I had the pleasure to watch the end of the harding arms game and it was fantastic good job by both teams.
