| I agree it needs to be fixed not only to make the proper call but so no one gets hurt.

| Just want to say that no one speaks for the league except John Abney. None of the scorekeepers, umpires, field prep, etc.. Bill Hoover and myself help with the scheduling and John runs the league. So no one else's "take" from a worker standpoint is representative of the league or it's views.

| Wasn't the base loose? How did someone "injure there ankle attempting to slide into second"? That doesn't make since. They even make break away bases. I doubt the base cause any injury.

| This is just a suggestion. Would the league consider magnetic bases. When I played in Denver, we had magnetic bases. The bases had a strong magnet in them and attached to the post which remained in the ground. The base would hold when you slide under normal conditions but would break away to prevent injuries if you went into the base too hard.

| That's a great idea. I've never heard of em. I can't find em online either. If you can point us in the right direction, I'm sure we'd be completely open to the idea.

| Yes. That is one style of the magnetic base. I am sure that there are others out there.

| Any chance we can revisit the magnetic base idea at pre-season summer meeting next year? I think it is a great idea and sounds like an ankle saver as well. If you think about it, I beleive they cost somewhere around $1100 or so for both fields. If 20 teams came up with only $55 a peice that would cover it and we have more teams than that in both leagues. Just a thought. Might save an ER visit which a whole lot more than $55.
