| Just a heads up to let everyone know and to possibly buy a helmet for your pitcher that the pitching rules (ASA) will change next yr from 6'-12' to 6'-10'. Doesm't do much justice to the pitchers but that height used to be in effect in the 70s. Good luck!

| Yep, just read this last night. That doesn't mean that league rules can't supercede it though and still keep it 6-12 though.

| NSA is the only other sanction that is 6-10. USSSA isn't, ISA isn't, WSL isn't, etc..

| We need the pitching height to be 12ft in Marion. Makes for a better game.

| I would rather it be 10 ft., but staying 12 ft is something that COULD definately happen. That will be up to the league coaches probably but ultimately up to Abney.
League rules always supersede assocation rules as long as safety is not risked. Keeping a 12ft height limit would not risk the pitchers safety so if the leagues coaches decide they want to keep it, it would probably be kept.
All that being said, Abney would have final say so either way.

| I vote for just letting the batter throw it up and hit it or raising limit to 15'...Lower the hieght limit is a disadvantage to the pitcher, plus playing on a 270 field. After all it is thrown under hand(how hard is it to hit?).Just my 2 cents...

| Exactly my point... we are on short fields... little help for the pitchers makes for a better game. 2 ft on height makes a big difference. Just hot stove talk for now... see you in the Spring.

| here is my idea:
i say we pitch according to an individuals height. treat it like a ride a six-flags. before batting stand next to a plywood caricature of Dan with both ft. and in. clearly displayed(sorta like a mugshot) if you are above a certain height(say...5'-10") u get up to a 12' pitch, if below u get a 10 footer. im short so i get a 10' pitch
just a thought
(this is a joke so dont get ur panties in a wad)

| I have no idea why people are acting like this is a big deal. 99% of the pitches I see are under 10 feet to begin with, half of the ones over 10" are way deep. That leaves half of a percent and half of those are called illegal high so we're gonna argue the .25 of a percent of all a pitchers pitches being taken away from him is big deal. Plus it seems that when you do see a good 12 foot pitch in a game it usually gets hit right back up the middle and that never leads to good things.

| Don't you mean .25% of the pitches thrown to you? You can't say that 99% of all the pitches thrown are 10 feet and under, I agree that a good percentage are thrown 10 feet and under but me personally i like throwing the high pitches. I use all 12 feet and then some, sometimes they are called illegal sometimes the are not, but i think it should be up to the pitcher to throw it 12 feet not the league and definatley not the hitters. But in the end it is up to the league, and whatever the rule is I will still pitch high, if I walk alot of batters then so be it.
