| Hey, now that everyone's team is out of it, we can talk about baseball again! 23 days until the first pitchers and catcher report. Also, there are rumors that the Twins may sign Thome as a bench player. Go baseball, go Twins!

| Alright Kirby, since it's been a full business day and nobody has responded to your post, I'll join in with some baseball thoughts.
Thome as a DH or an actual bench player? I can't see him as being much of a bench player. DH-yes. That would make the middle of our line-up pretty left handed-could cause problems against a good lefty on the mound. I know M&M are good against lefties, but they've got more power against righties. What would become of Kuebel? A rotation at corner outfield with him, Young, and Cuddyer? Who is actually playing third this year for us? Punto? Have we settled on Casilla at second? Will Gardy win Manager of the year like he deserves to every year? Will Slowey be as effective this year as he was last year before the injury. Will Liriano ever re-appear to be anything like he was his rookie year? Can Blackburn and Baker continue to be solid? Can Joe Nathan continue to be that good at closer? (we won't mention the play-offs) Did we keep Pavano? Why? Is Mauer dating a hot chick? Are you still paying attention? How will the Twins make the transition to playing outside in their new home?
Enough for now. My brain is tired.

And anyway, it would be in the Twins nature to sign a big name player while said player is on the decline and well past his prime.
On a sweeter note, I went to MOA with Maverick on Friday for the Vikes rally and got Chuck Foremans autograph. That was sweet, hopefully I will be able to get them over for Twinsfest this weekend
