For the record Im on a bit of a high horse and don't really care at this point which feathers I ruffle.

Baseball guy to baseball guy whether you love me or hate me I am on my riled because I tried to become a member of NW Umpires and was denied.

I was denied for some of the following reasons:

"Professionalism" "leaving your mask on the ground" (in between innings)...would any of us even notice this or better yet would we even care?

I did not get into the slot enough at the plate but called a "consistently good zone" "had a decent day" all be it "not a pitcher's zone" and perhaps "too tight."

Basically I mistakenly called a town ball zone at a high school fall league game.

I did not take my mask off with my left hand. Like many of you I am use to having a glove on a hand so I would consequently remove my mask with the other.

I need to call play every time play starts again.

My foul ball single was not correct.

I did not inspect the balls that were returned to me.....I have inspected balls for 33 years as a baseball guy I don't need to look at it in order to know if there is something wrong with it.

I did not go to the correct spots when making calls yet I got every call right.

"when the ball was a base hit or fly ball to the OF you did not come inside the diamond and pivot....." Seriously who cares what I do as long as I get in a good position. Besides I am tired of seeing the "umpire jog" then "pivot" and the wrong call being made.

I was not loud enough in communicating with my partner because there are "many" games when it is apparently so loud that people on the field would have to adjust their volume in order to communicate with their teammates or in this case their partner in crime.

Seriously fellas this is only a tid bit of why I was not accepted as umpire into the NW orgainization.

My suggestion to any baseball player who thinks he may want to get into umpiring is don't as you will be driven even further to insanity then you are now with umpires when you learn about all the nuances, style points and flare pieces that are expected of you as an umpire.

Comically and Seriously,

KC

clearly you are not blind enough, dumb enough, or self centered enough to be an umpire for the all mighty "NW"

Sounds like you can't take criticism at all.
