| The NEFL got in over 20 gms over the weekend. It rained cats & dogs on Saturday, but that didn't stop Joe G, Tom J, and Keith Chalmers from making the trek to Philly. Keith & Tom actually got a hotel room so they could get caught up on games.
Saturday we were at the Perzel Center & bowling alley. There were some big time match ups on paper, that turned into blow outs on the field.
A possible Super Bowl preview between Tom (chargers) and Andrew (packers) turned into a walk in the park for the Pack Attack. A Philly term for a blow out (we say, A stat game) between Big Keith (bears) & Greg (bucs) was one of the better games of the day. We had the Somebody's 0 has to go game with the 0-2 Chargers vs the 0-3 Patriots.
Here were the results from Sat:
Giants 21 Vikings 14 (joe greco vs ed scott)
The game wasn't as close as the score. Vikes scored on Sp. teams. Could only muster 3 first downs all game.
Bucs 21 Bears 19 (greg king vs keith chalmers)
Keith gave up 2 easy tds down the stretch trying to run down the clock so that he could kick a chip shot FG but missed it!!!!
Packers 37 Chargers 14 (andrew stewart vs tom johnson)
The passing attack of the Pack were lights out! Tom had no answers for the offense GB unleashed on them.
Jags 14 Texans 10 (william chalmers vs kenny king)
Texans had their chances to win but couldn't hit the big passes when they needed to.
Redskins 21 Patriots 10 (cliff gibbs vs jerry fulton)
The skins get their 1st win while keeping the Pats losing streak going
Eagles 24 Bills 10 (robert chalmers vs kern robinson)
The birds are streaking upwards, while the bills are falling
Chargers 14 Patriots 3 (tom vs jerry)
LT breaks loose for a 84yd td run to seal the victory and keep the Patriots winless
Jags 28 Bills 14 (william vs kern)
Sunday results:
A whopping 13 games were played on Sunday. The rain tappered off a lil bit, The league played all games in the Perzel center. We had some big name coaches going at it. The Chalmers were back, and so was Tom J after a good nights sleep they were ready to rumble!!! Coach Jack Thomas was in the heezy. Morgan came to town, and Joe G was back again! We had a mammouth sized upset in the building. There were several shut outs posted as teams try to pull away from the pack and secure a playoff spot.
49ers 12 Giants 0 (corey johnson vs joe greco)
Ball control on offense and a stiffling defense was too much for the G-men. 49ers go to 7-0 on the season.
Jets 14 Patriots 7 (morgan scott vs jerry)
Jets get their 1st win, while the Pats are still looking for answers.
Bears 14 Bucs 7 (keith vs greg)
The home & home series went to the favorite Bears this time, but the earlier loss could prove costly
Eagles 21 Redskins 0 (robert vs cliff)
This game was dominated from start to finish
Chargers 20 Chiefs 0 (tom vs harold king)
The 2-time division champs are starting to flex their muscles.
Jags 30 Texans 19 (william vs kenny)
The jags sweep the season series, and keep the Texans in the basement of the South division
Eagles 25 Cowboys 13 (robert vs al harvey)
The boys were up at the half but couldn't hold on to the lead at the Linc.
Chargers 21 Den 0 (tom vs jack thomas)
SD post back-to-back shut outs. Denver never got close to scoring in this game.
Giants 10 Jets 0 (joe vs morgan)
The NY bowl was there for the taking, but the Jets were too slow to the button.
Ravens 10 Rams 7 (glenn phoenix vs dave el)
The Rams played inspired ball but cream rises to the top as the Ravens out classed them in the end.
Bears 17 Seahawks 14 (keith vs jamie harris)
Chicago got up early and put it on cruise control as the seahawks looked sleepless in Seattle.
Vikings 10 Packers (ed scott vs andrew stewart
Packer fans are still scratching their heads as they left Lambeau field. How could this happen?
Bengals 10 Steelers 7 (norris mccraw vs ernie grice)
In a game played in Md:
Adrian Baxter's Dolphins were too much for Will Travers and the Raiders.
