| I will be holding the Gold's Gym Softball Classic on June 5th and 6th(if necessary). There will be 2 divisions, a Competitive and a Recreational division.
NSA Bat list, ASA/NSA pitch rules, hit your own 44 cor SANCTIONED OPTIC YELLOW ball. HR's are a flat 3 and you can buy 3 more for $10 at the coinflip.
Competitive division: -$200 entry -Payout will be $150 for each team entered. -Double elimination or 2 game round robin into single elim format. I will talk to coaches and go with what the majority want.
Recreational division: -$100 entry -Only "guaranteed" payback for this division is entry fee money back. I reserve the right to pay back more if I choose to. -3 game guarantee.
If you want a chance to win money, get in the competitive division. If I have 8 teams, I'll pay back the top 3 and go from there.
If you just want to get out and play some ball, get in the recreational division. Guaranteed 3 games for $100 you can't beat.
Contact me for more information. Dan 618-967-4711

| Approx 8 in the competitive (like 5 for sure and 3 90% and 1 or 2 "trying to find enough guys)
and 8 or so in the rec. But the rec division always seems to get more and more the closer I get to the tourney. Had 3 teams call today about it and I'm not counting them.

| I will have them tomorrow. My cut off for teams is always Wednesday night and I will do game times late tonight/early tomorrow.
They'll be up by lunch tomorrow. It looks like the rain that was supposed to come through Friday/Saturday has gone away and there is 0% chance of rain Saturday. Should be a good one.

| Competitive DaNite over Anna Moose 23-22 in 8 innings
Recreational Knuckleheads over 2 Run Crew (not sure of score)
Turnout was great and all the games except for a couple were close. I think that out of the 27 games played, only 5 were by margins of more than 5 runs.
Thanks to everyone that played and hope you had a good time.

| Nice tournament , visited with many guys I have not seen in years. Thanks for the hard work you put into the tournament even though I did not play I really enjoyed it!
I just want to warn everyone about the Alcohol in the park rul. Seems that Marion P.D. really is pressing the issue about no alcohol. It is a shame you get harrassed about having a beer while watching a game. Maybe if it was just a crack pipe they would turn their head or avoid coming out to the park. I do not mean to stereo type the entire police dept because I do know some very fine officers but be serious, what in the hell does it hurt.
All the tournaments that our Knights of Columbus team attend we have beer and most other softball tournaments in the areas sell beer. I really don't want to think that it was racial profiling that happened to me and a few of my friends but I am thinking maybe that was it.
Grow up Marion , there is nothing illegal about alcohol as long as it is not abused. Watch out next thing you know they will say there is no Coca Cola products allowed in the park. Then we will have the Coke patrol!

| remember the good ole days when you would sit in the parking lot with the state police team and drink until 2am, and then they would do burn outs in their squad cars when they left? War Darren Lindsey.
