This is the place where you can talk about/chirp The Arms - USPL's loudest team.

I personally think they are amazing. Especially the catcher who throws his hat.

**Update** Arms (1-0) 16-3 over MAS (0-1)

Our Lady of Tinos (Greek: Megalóchare tes Tenou or Panaghía Evangelístria tes Tenou) is the major Marian shrine in Greece. It is located in the town of Tinos on the island of Tinos. She also apparently plays on the Arms.

Alcohol intoxication (also known as drunkenness or being drunk or inebriated) is a physiological state occurring when an organism has a high level of ethanol in its bloodstream, or when ethanol otherwise causes the physiological effect known as drunkenness after a slo pitch game. In humans, common symptoms may include slurred speech, euphoria, impaired balance, poor coordination, flushed face, reddened eyes, reduced inhibition, smoking tinos and erratic forum posts.

It should be noted that after week one, we really only have a two race here. Not like the prima donnas that are the Arms. The two best teams are CP and VG. They are like ....ya know...the Yankees and the Redsoxs....or like Gretzky and Lemieux. The rest of you might as well practice your drinking.

Actually I would liken them more toward "Sonny and Cher"...one holds all the talent and marketability and the other is just very opportunistic and knows enough to ride the others coat tails to fame and glory. I'll let you decide which is which! The Arms boys can google"Sonny and Cher".

Remax is 4-0

from everything that i'm reading, it sounds like there is no team to challenge the arms. no one has said anything about the other undefeated team, they were arguably the 09 champs, they are men who stays till the end but know when it is the right time to leave. they could go the distance, been in finals from time to time, when will the wings fly over the arms?

Slezak,
The only ones who say Wing It was “arguably” the 2009 Champs are the poor sports from Wing It themselves. They LOST in the final game… they finished in second place. They lost to a good, no better, team. It didn’t happen on the last play of the game (as they continue to drone on and on about). Arguably, it happened because they coughed up a lead, surrendering an ill-timed HR late in the game. $hit happens. Good luck to them this year. Perhaps they’ll play well, and again get to the Championship game.

Love how the last 3 teams we have played only had there 10 best guys out. It's actually very funny how this league works. The worst is seeing guys last night who are on the team but didn't play but were fine enough to drink beer afterwards. We play tonight. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the other team has there 10 best out. Maybe its coincidence, but seeing it the past 3 weeks makes me think other wise. Good game by Crupi last night. Our bats went dead cold. Hope to see you guys soon.

PS: enough of the chirping of the Arms. It's people in the league that are on other teams writing this crap.

Things come up and guys can't play..I can guarantee you no one is told to stay home or not dress..and esp not because we're playing the mighty arms. Why would we ask some of our better players not to show up? Yeah, that makes sense.

Just take your loss and move on...It was a good game, so don't wreck it with idiodic comments like this.

It's slo-pitch..I can go on record and guarantee you the arms will lose again..and again..and again...it's part of the game.

I think we had 11 guys. 2 guys were out with injuries (one hasn't played a game this year) and 2 guys couldn't make the game. Should we bring up the fact that you weren't going to sit in the last inning before we called you on it?

Fair enough boys I guess they were just coincidences. To Mr. October, at least Jamie B and I have our names undisclosed. We wont loose again, again, again, again to you. So keep running your mouth and hiding behind your computer. Probably just hiding behind your lack of baseball ability. I'm not here to start chirping. I'll let you do that.

As for the guy that was coaching first base. Sorry the guy was playing in the father son tourny all weekend and couldn't lift his arm. We all play on the Arms so we can play with our fathers. Steve M "the guy that was coaching first" is our CF dad. If you think we would tell our fathers to sit out games then you should give your head a shake. We all love playing in the league and getting a chance to play with our fathers. All the young guys hope that when we have kids they wont kick our asses off the team before we can have a chance to play with them.

RELAX BOYS.
I'm pretty passive, but lets call a spade a spade here...the arms are not liked. Be it for whatever reason, I know first hand that people don't like US...yes US. Are we an easy target...sure why not young team, we get a little excited when we play, and yes I am well aware that we make noise.

That being said, I was under the impression that I'm not only friends with a lot of people in the league, but I'm good friends. We feel comfortable with the guys we chirp. If anyone can honestly say that in their sports lives they were never competitive.....then beat it. But for those of you who can, I'm sure you will remember doing it at a young age.

I can speak for us all when I say that we have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone in this league, and joining has been a blessing. Our older players are among the most genuine people I have ever met, and keep us in line just fine...if that's even an issue. Remember your not talking about little kids here, I'm a man and live a life conducive of one.

I'm reading all this Shit you guys write about my teammate, and it makes me smile. To those of you who throw stones, lets face it...they come from glass houses. Chirping is fun, its apart of a healthy community who is comfortable enough to do it with friends. Let's remember Bowen is one of the few guys man enough to actually post his name on the forum. When he writes stuff...he can and will look you in the eye and say it.

We will lose many times, we will have our ups and downs, but we will play. we are not the best team and never claimed to be. We all love each other and love playing together. Don't hate on us, just because its easy to, because we love y'all.

We write about 8% of the shit you think we write. Others do it for us. And if you want to talk about a guy who will willingly sign his name at the end...do the same.

See you on the field.

If you read my posts carefully, I don't call out teams or individuals..I clearly state the facts as I see them..and in this case you were offside with your comments. I know it sucks losing, but it's going to happen..and often.

If you wanted to know why one of our guys was not playing, but drinking beers in the parking lot..all you had to do was ask..Nothing to hide.

I have one word for you..'REMAX'...win games, championships and eventually respect...Great team to model your team after.

Good luck with the remaning 20 games....

Jesus.

This has gone way to far. To Jamie's post, Yes I was pissed I had to sit in the last inning. Of coarse I want to be out there. I was angry with our scorekeeper not b/c you think we were trying to cheat. If you don't want to have respect for me b/c of that, well that’s your own decision. I don’t think you guys understand how much fun we have playing in this league. Its kind of funny how our Arms teams age is so high with all the young guys we have on our team. It’s all about playing with good friends and family. Everyone on our team loves the fathers on the team. Hell, we used our 7th pick overall for a father who doesn't play a lot of baseball. But we love him on the team. I understand we are not going to win every damn game, that’s a given. But for all this talk about “ The ones that count” all this chirping is getting way out of hand. I’ll just let my bat and glove do the chirping.

Good luck to everyone. Hope you have fun and save year of ball.

Well - That really got everyone talking!!

As a former member of the Arms I can attest that they are a great group of guys. I can also tell you that they like the fact that they 'rattle' you, and that you talk about them. I started a thread for the Arms because everyone is so interested in them it is just about one team, and it has more views/replies than any other leaguewide topic. People love to hate them but they are good guys.

That being said... The 10 men arguement is silly.

the "love to hate them" part may be true, but I don't think they "rattle" anyone. That may just be another case of a team thinking they're better than they are. For 2 years people have been saying just let your play do the talking. When that happens we'll see. In the meantime they're just any other team in the league who wins more games than they lose....and there's plenty of those teams to go around

first time poster, long time reader..

gotta say the league is awesome so far and a lot of FUN! we all are competitive in nature and sometimes that gets taken off the field and into the lot, but guess what, its a game and let it go.

Personal carving of guys characters over the net seems quite juvenile to me, this coming from a rookie in the league. And it seems odd that those who do the carving don't have a name to go with the words, so what kind of character does that show?

This is a fun, competitive league and i am thrilled to be a part. This forum is a fun thing for the casual chirp and discussion, if you wana call someone out do it in person or put a name to it.

In each of the Arms’ last 4 games, they have scored 9 runs. Not coincidentally, they have lost each of those games because they allowed 10, 13, 18, and 17.

News Flash, young grasshoppers! Slo-Pitch is a game of scoring a ton of runs. You can make all the highlight reel diving stops and up-against-the-fence catches you want, but if you don’t score runs in the double-digits, you are going to lose 9 times out of 10.

Glad to see you understand the concept, Mr. Bowen. Now, get to hitting, instead of just TALKING about hitting. Let’s see some execution of the concept. Until we see that, you’re just a mediocre, .500 ball club.

Maybe you guys should less time writing on the forum and flappin’ your gums, and more time taking some BP. I watched you guys the other night… lots of good joking around and having fun. But when you get up to the plate (especially you, #19), it looks like you’re trying to squeeze the life out of your bats.

haha, This is so damn funny.

Thats me eh bud, squeezing the life out of the bat....Thanks tips. How about you just worry about your own team, if you do in fact play in the league. All this crap that is being said about us is from guys that are not even on our team.

But I think my goal in life now is to make you proud of me. So having said that I plan on taking BP everyday, b/c like you said I am a terrible ball player. Do you think you could teach me your skills Gimme? I'm sure there would be other people on our team that would love to learn from such a pro like yourself. I would be so honoured!!!!!!!!

See..I think this is one of those times when someone reads a post and takes it the wrong way. I don't think Gimme is off base in what he is saying.

He is stating the facts (as he see's them) and in turn is trying to help out an individual and team better themselves. Nothing wrong with that.

Try reading the post in a positive light before going to the negative side all the time.

And what's up with this lovey dovey stuff....oh, don't pick on him, he's a good guy..oh please don't talk bad about them...come on! Last time I checked, there were men playing in this league...at least I hope that's what I'm playing against when I take the field.

Killer has a big mouth. He says that it was about to get loud after a win. Oh really, since when? Is it loud when you score 14 runs in 2 games, I don’t think so. You just like to shoot off your mouth because it makes you sound important. For once it would be nice to have an Arms player shut his mouth during a game and when the games are completed.

why do all the good teams have to play the challenged teams twice?

until someone can come up with a solution on how to move teams up or down that makes sense, i don't see things changing.

i know what people are saying about playing the top teams more than once. but then how would we have superheroes that hit more than .700?

seriously though, i enjoy playing all of the teams, especially since my first two years in the league i was on the worst team in uspl history. but it gave me, something to work with through the draft and it's the reason guys love this league. the young gunz were brutal, now shamrock. when ryan took over the team things changed and we will stick together

Maybe it's you that should "get a grip". With the parity in this league the last few seasons (and only getting better) it should be an interesting and exciting playoff weekend. This Arms chatter reminds me about a guy walking down the beach. He finds a bottle, pops the cork and a genie comes out to grant him one wish. The guy says my wish is for peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. Here's a map of the Middle East. The genie takes the map, studies it for hours and hours. Finally gives it back to the guy and says, "Is there anything else you want to wish for? This is impossible." The guy says, "Well, I always wanted to see the Unionville Arms win a USPL championship." The genie looks at him, reaches out and says, "Let me have another look at that map."

Last year my sons asked me to come back to the USPL to join them and two of their former coaches Mario G and Bundie to be a part of a father son Unionville Arms team. I cannot tell you how much fun it has been to play with my boys and I know G and Bundie feel the same way. Yesterdays Championship took us back 15 years, when the young guns used to win Tournament after Tournament as young baseball players. I had tears in my eyes as I watched their celebration from my first base position. These kids were taught the fundamentals, and they were also taught to play with enthusiasm and be vocal in support of each other. Not sure if these old bones will be able to play on another Championship team in the USPL because there are so many outstanding teams but I know I will never forget yesterday's win. So far as the questionable play is concerned I learned something new yesterday. I should have just thrown the ball home and the runner from third would have been out because of interference. Thanks umpire Jim for teaching an old dog a new trick. As Fred Shero told his Philadelphia Flyers before their first Stanley Cup Championship. "If we win today we will walk through history together for ever" HOW ABOUT THEM ARMS!!!!!!!
