| I just did some analysis of the numbers. We have a 25 game season. Some teams only have 9 or 10 games at Crosby. So by simple math 40% or less of the games are played at the HR Park better known as Crosby. Why do we have any HR rule again? If each game is 7 innings and each team averages (check 2010 data) 16 runs per game. Follow along here boys. Let’s assume each team leaves 5 runners on per game. That adds up to 42 AT BATS a game per team. Each team averages 4 AB per game. That all translates to approximately 150 to 160 pitches per game. If we say the average home runs hit in one game is 5 then the number that we should all chew on is this.
-7 inning per game…….16 runs scored by each team -21 outs per team -5 runners are left on the bases during the game -Each team average 42 at bats per game -Each player only averages 4 AB per game -The league averages 5 HR are hit per game -320 balls are pitched per game -Less than 2% of the balls pitches are hit for HOME RUNS
We should not have any HR rule. Swing away, if you can hit it out, good on you.

| The first problem with this is that Statistics can be manipulated to help support your cause. Secondly why are you using the stat that 2% of pitches go for homeruns, when a better stat would be comparing how many HR’s per at bat. 5 Hr’s for 84 at bats, so 6%, which is 3 times larger than the number you came up with. Most of your stats are all estimates, which leaves a very large margin for error. At Crosby I would think that there would be more HR’s on average per game.
The last game we played at Crosby, 12 happened to fly out over the fences. And we only played 5 innings. The reason for the HR rule is because of Crosby. Many guys in the league like playing at Crosby for the atmosphere, so to keep it competitive we have a HR rule.
If you don’t like it, play somewhere else. See you at the diamond

| Let them play the damn game. Hitting the ball out of the park shouldn't be punished, that’s just impressive. In my opinion it is another stupid rule in slow pitch. No dinger rule.

| people write on the forum to voice their ideas and opinions. believe it or not the people in our league don't just have positive thoughts and ideas. if something isn't going right or someone isn't pleased with something in the league they should be able to post it on the forum. why have a forum if we cant dicuss issues that need to be addressed. as you can see more people view these topics than the number of people on a team so it gets the word out faster and makes people all over the league of whats happening. if something negative written on here and it's a problem, then more people will see it resulting in either a faster solution to the problem or nothing. lets face it, how many people other than league members view this website? probably not too many...but i could be wrong. NO HR RULE 4 ME
