| Agreed upon Frank! We are a very good team this year, with perhaps more pitching depth than we have ever had. I second, great job pitchers last night! We'll be just fine! Let's go on a winning streak!

| Looking at games we won vs. games we lost, consider this:
In games we've won: we've scored 12 out of 14 (86%) of runners who reached first to lead off an inning
In games we've lost: we've scored 3 out of 8 (38%) runners who reached first to lead off an inning.
Of those 5 who failed to score: - 2 didn't advance due to failed sac bunt attempts, both at bats ended in double plays - 2 had the next hitter strike out after not attempting to bunt
I think we take 3 things away from this: 1) We need to practice our bunts, and WORK at them 2) We need to be more aware of the game situation, and be focused on advancing runners. 3) We need to challenge opposing teams, make them throw us out at the plate, because the games we are losing we are not getting hits with runners in scoring position, and we're not getting guys in scoring position with 0 or 1 outs.
I know we need to stay loose and not get too bent out of shape by a couple losses, we'll find out stride, but we need to do something to get back on track. If this situation gives us focus on the little things we used to do, and we need to do, then that's a win for us.

| Correction, in games we've won we scored 12 of 13 (92%) of runners who lead off an inning by reaching first. The one who didn't score was successfully sacrificed to second but the next two batters struck out.

| Thank you stat man. I have just one question for you-what were the stats if the leadoff guy got to second right away??
We'll be fine. Focus on doing the little things right and making productive outs. We've had a number of opportunities with guys on third and less than 2 outs, and have been unable to have even a productive out (myself more than once) to drive them in. Take those unproductive outs and turn them into productive ones and things don't look nearly as bad.
The line-up we're running out there is going to score runs, and it starts on Saturday. It's Miller time baby!!

| 3 for 4 when the leadoff hitter hits a double. So there's the answer, more leadoff doubles!
Note: the one leadoff double that didn't score the next batter didn't put the ball in play.
