| I am having a charity tournament on June 26th at Club Jogues and Amby Smith. ALL proceeds (after the cost of balls) will be donated to Dave Lombari and family. He is a friend of mine that I went to school with and have known since we were 12. Dave had his house burn down and he lost all his belonging and his 2 dogs. Dave also received bad burns to his arms and hands as a result of trying to get to his dogs. I would greatly appreciate anyones entrance into this tournament for such a good cause. It promises to be a lot of fun and I was really hoping to get teams from Coventry. I have 2 teams before I even start with Artie promising a team and the Gophers being entered.
I will be running the tournament and I am looking at a double elimination format with 1 and 1 count none to waste. Working on a few coventry celebrity umpires. If you would like to enter a team please respond to this thread or email me at ewthebosoxfan@yahoo.com or call me at 536-4336.

| Entry fee is 150 bucks. Compared to the tournaments around here that is a deal. The tournaments around here average 250 bucks.

need more teams if anyone knows of any teams and I mean any from any league even coed that wants in just let me know its strictly for fun. Thinking about making it ASA bats only no USSSA. Field size doesn't warrant USSSA bats at all. I personally will use a F3 and skip using the composites.

| Club Jogues is attempting to put their team in so should be up to 6. Need just 2 more to make it a go. Chip? Moulton? Patriot? Eaton? I know a large number of guys from the league will be in branford but there are still plenty of guys that don't play tournaments that I'm sure would like to play. Ask around.... if you have 6 guys that want to play put a post up i'm sure u can find 4 or 5 guys on here so that you have enough to play.

Someone on DelPadre's sunday morning team check with him and make sure he still plans on entering. I haven't heard from him much other than a quick yes and I think he was just trying to get me to leave him alone. Stevens, while telling him that he sucks see if he still is interested (Please).
Bobby Berard is also checking the Twilight teams to see if they have any interest.
It is starting to shape up nicely. We have recieved the field permit for Amby Smith and Club Jogues has already approved our use of the field (secured through Hodde - thanks rob). We have two volunteer umps - Rob Hodde and a coventry legend.... Rob Raymond.

| After some careful consideration, it has been decided that we will be using NON COMPOSITES. The field size plus the relatively low skill level of some teams dictates that non composites would be a much safer and better choice for the tournament. If your team doesn't have any noncomposite bats let me know and I will see what I can do to help you out. I know that at least 4 or 5 of the teams have people that have them so it should not be a big deal.

| The scheduling is a lot harder to set up than you think. Simply put if you like club jogues then win because winners stay at club jogues and losers go to amby until the finals or they lose a second time. I am down to only 6 teams and trying to get more if anyone knows of anyone that would like to enter a team and is close let me know. I have 4 people from the pub that are willing to play that I would like to put on a team and they would like to all play together. | An excellent idea was brought forward by Mike Cote. Since we dropped from 8 to 6 teams we will now have more field time available at the end of the day. We will have a homerun derby 20 bucks winner takes half the pot the other half goes to the Lombari family. We will also have a nice full liquor basket to raffle off.

| I am sorry to say it has shrunk to a 6 team tournament, but it shouldnt stop us from having a good time. It will just get over a little earlier and allow us to do a HR derby.
Guvna, I will be figuring the scheduling out tomorrow and will have the info posted here on the site for ryno, lb4lb, and stevens to cry about. I will schedule the HR derby for right after the last game is played. The exact time will be up tomorrow with the bracket.
Ant, no bat to raffle. The liquor basket should be good enough. I can't get a bat cheap enough on short notice to make the bat raffle worthwhile.
Stevens, Ryno, and LB4LB I will have you at club jogues for the start of the day, but it is up to you whether you stay there or not. Simply put winners bracket is played out at CJ and losers bracket is played out at Amby Smith.
There is one last issue that I will need a hand with... and that is recovering balls at the game and please bring any old balls that you don't mind using after the game balls are lost. Especially you guys that have homerun hitters on your team. I will be supplying 2 balls per game. The recovery of those 2 or you supplying more if you lose them is critical.

| All I really needed was some one on one time with LB4LB the fax, computer, scanner, secretary were all secondary to face to face time with LB4LB. Brackets are up on teh main page and thanks Ian, but they took away all the lines that I had added when it was put on the main page. I will hand out an actual bracket sheet to the coaches that morning. I will send brackets to Club Jogues with Hodde (the official winners bracket umpire and I will have the ones for Amby with me where Rob "The Legend" Raymond will be handling the first 2 games.

| My bad Ian. In google chrome (which is what I use) for some reason the bracket lines dont show up just the text. When I look at it in internet explorer it is there like it should be. So if any of you use google chrome or firefox and can't see the lines just use IE and you will be able to see it.

| just so everyone knows in advance the club does not let booze brought on the feild unless it is purchased at the club so please dont put me in a bad position satarday, the league really doesnt bring any business to the club anymore and they are seeing it more and more every week there is like 3 or 4 teams out of 16 that will support us if they play at our field, they are truely getting fed up with our softball issues, even the fire fighters dont support us anymore

Lot of chatter about this tournament and this is truly for a great cause
Stop by Club Jogues after and hang out if you get knocked out and watch the drinking display that Stevens puts on. Heard that he is giving lessons between field swaps

| I will be dropping off printed out brackets at both fields. See the umpire if u want to take a look at the bracket. The bracket on the main page is right except for the winner's bracket final. That game should say 1230 AMBY not club jogues. See you assclowns in the AM and sorry about the last second switch of the schedule, but it was necessary.
