| Do we know if anyone has been eliminated yet? Nobody seems to be posting the scores online, and the local papers enjoy giving amateur ball the shaft in coverage.
I do know that the lights never went on at Miller Park last night, so the Edina-Westside series is still going on (Westside surprised in game 1).
Anyone know anything about the Hopkins or Richfield series yet?

| Westside decided not to resume game two from when their lights did not go on. Forfeited the game and then went on to loose game three which is fitting for a team of loosers who simply give up in a game when they are down 2-6 after three.
Edina moves on Westside Cowards go on vaca.

| Old Timer, I think you're confused. Westside wanted to complete the game. The decision was out of our hands.

| I take offense to that Old Timer. And it was only after 1 inning that the score was 6-2. 8 innings left is a long time and anything can happen. We wanted to play on and make up the remainder of the game but Edina refused to cooperate with us. We have worked hard to improve all season and we get set back by the decisions made by people above us. Series should be tied 1-1 but what can you do. It was out of our hands. It was an unfair decision to make us forfeit the game but we can only move forwards. I can assure you that we will continue to improve and maintain good class and sportsmanship.
Good luck to all teams still playing for state.

| Conley - you are out of line with your comments about the Bombers. No, I'm not going to carry on a conversation with you on here.
They show up, play hard, and continue to field a team every year because they have passion about the game.
It needs to be left at that
Conversation over.

| Well heres the recap:
We were in the top half of the 2nd inning when we stopped the game due to the lack of light. Apparently the park attendant in charge of switching the lights on never showed up. We called everyone we knew and all the #'s we could get a hold up (even Eden Prairie Police, who contacted the head of Parks and Recreation for the city of EP). By then it was about 9pm and we would never have gotten the game in by the 10:30pm lights curfew so the umps decided to postpone it.
We were willing to play the game on Friday, Saturday and even a doubleheader on Sunday to get the entire series in but Edina's coach pretty much wanted a forfeit and blamed us for not doing what we could to get the lights on. And he got his way with the commish who gave Edina that game and decided it would be winner take all on Sunday. We got the short end of the stick and to be honest it sucks that we got that 2nd game robbed from us after only 1 inning. We didn't work hard all year to end up losing a series where it should still be tied 1-1.

| If that is truly what happened, that is an embarrassment to the Riverview League and Class A Baseball as a whole. Who wants to win a game, let alone a PLAYOFF game in that fashion?
$hit happens with the lights. I know from experince that it can out of your hands when it comes to city fields. Yes, Westside should've been better prepared but Edina should man up and settle it on the field instead weaseling their way out and finding some loophole in the rule. If it really didn't go down the way it's described above than I apologize to Edina but if it's accurate, than you shold be ashamed of yourselves.

| Can't really do much about the lights. It was the city not being prepared. The field was booked well in advance. I do have to give Edina credit though. I talked to a few of their guys and they were willing to play. They have a bunch of good guys over there and some excellent ballplayers. It'll be fun playing them next season. Looking forward to it.

| To: Raider and everyone else.....Guess I was misinformed by a veteran SLP player and teammate of yours Raider.
No need for a conversation about any of it.
However if Edina did indeed choose not to agree to accomodate the continuation of the game then they should be the ones called out.
Perhaps someone from Edina can chime in.
I may have been out of line but some times that is what opinions dictate especially if I was misinformed!
Peaaace out Raider!

| What a shame! Riverview league should be embarrassed. Edina should be embarrassed! How can you feel you deserve to advance without giving the other team a fair shot. I hope they get knocked out next round.

| The 17....you chirp again.
Seems like no one is willing to take the blame between Edina and WS.....
Every thing I have heard states Westside agreed to a one game take all....they deny it who cares. Edina did whatever... who cares.
You know who probably cares?
Bloomington as they will be facing Edina.

| Just wanted to shed a little more light on the situation and let you decide.
1st game was rained out after the 1st inning. Teams had to pay full umpire and field fees. Game is played the following night. Another full umpire and field fees. Thursday night game is postponed after 1 inning on a perfect night due to lights. Another umpire and field fee. Then it is decided to play one game on Sunday because of both money and staying on schedule for the next round.
The series was getting too expensive and hard haveing players rescheduling their week. This is not the first time this has happened to Westside this year. The continually are unorganized. In the last 3 years I don't remember showing up to one of their "home games" and having a field that is raked, lined, grass cut or lights on. Neither was the case again last Thursday...

| sounds like Westside plays in the Park National with very expensive field rates and fields that get no attention (unless RBI League is playing on them - which is ridiculous). MPRB = bad landlord. I truely feel your pain WS Bombers...

| So the best three teams made it in.....the pitching staffs from each of these teams separately are better then any team that the crap line can throw out there.
Westside? Talk of the town for a while.....
JUST WHO IS THE BEST CLUB FROM THE CRAP LINE NOW?
Will this league even win a game in the tourney?

| from what has gone on with Westside and the Edina series, Westside fought hard in there win. Its a shame that the series ended the way it did. if someone is to blame it isn't Westside. they had no control in how the lights went on and who turns them on. every team in the riverview league has a home field and a town that tries hard to work for them in getting things to work. Eden Prairie seems to thinking differently in their town team. its sad but its that way. Westside comes into every game ready to work and give a good game despite some scores but they keep coming back. will be back next year so just be ready. Good luck to every team in state.
