| Could someone from the braintrust side of Class A or anyone else for that matter please explain how the tourney is set up this year and why?
Or rather the reasoning behind the change and why whoever thinks it will be better for A all the while slighting the best two leagues by shoving them in the same prelim bracket together (Park National and Riverview)
If three of those six from each side go on I guarantee anyone that the three teams who do not make it from the Park National and Riverview side of the bracket would be better then at least one of the teams who make it out of six from the skyline and sp bracket.
Now that I think about the A bracket all together has been a jacked up mess in terms of seeding and especially re-seeding (second round games for years).
Some years it has been better to loose your second game then win it......
Clarification please from anyone.

| The brackets are set-up this way... you have to "beat the best, to be the best" I think it's a goofy bracket too , but can you really complain that much about having the top three from each side competing for the championship. If you're number four (on your side of the river), then get better so you can compete next year.

| valid point but my point was this.....
Lets say it is Tonka, Park and Blmgtn for the Riverview and Pub, Gators and Angels or Cobras from the PN....or something like that.
My point is that there is no way anyone can tell me that regardless of how it is set up that the top three seeds are
1) Mtka 2) Pub 3) Park
So those three all get shoved in the same bracket
I guarantee Bloomington and lets say Cobras, Gators and Angels are better then the every team in the Skyline and atleast one of the three teams from SP.
The only people who would argue that are the skyline kids who really truly don't get it.
I mean seriously WB township wins the sky line?
Come on.
So my point.......the three teams from the PN/RV side of the bracket who don't make it are better perhaps then the three teams from the other side who make it.
Therefore per your comment the teams from the SL and SP side of the bracket will not have to beat the best teams to get into the next portion of the tourney

| ..or rather no one can tell me regardless of how it is set up that if Tonka, Park and Pub make it to the tourney that they are not the top three seeds.
They are the top three teams in A ball most years and this year is no different so hopefully all of them make it to the tourney and survive their bracket of six in order to play the top three whatevers from skyline and saint paul....
...no disrespect to Air Frieght and Edge

Correct me if I'm wrong Scrappy but maybe you can verify this since you are a Logger but I'm pretty sure Stillwater beat up on Bloomington in the first round of the tourney last year. Just sayin...

| i just want to clarify: It is/was my understanding that the brackets were setup this way for a couple reasons.
1.) we can no longer use Midway so that means all games would be played at Dunning. I think the St Paul Park Board has done a wonderful job with that facility and they have proven to care about holding the tourney. However, to play every game there is tough on the field and the maintenance crews. 2.) we could go about as the last couple years where its mixed with some St Paul/Skyline teams playing at Tonka the first weekend and some PN/RV teams at Dunning. But what was found last year is that there was very low attendence of fans for teams that had to travel across the river - especially the first week of the tourney. (with the exception of game 1 - Pub vs Air Freight. mainly because Pub families attend and AF is the Pride of the Eastside.). The Eastside fans (not so much St Paul - but for sure Skyline) do not want to drive to Tonka to see their teams play. This obviously has an impact on the gate, and unlike Class B we have to work hard to break even financially. Its unfortunate, but thats the way it goes.
Basically this means that on the first weekend all Westside teams play on the westside and all Eastside teams play on the eastside - in order to try to get the most fans in attendence. So once again, it is a $$$ thing. I appreciate all the work that went into planning this years tourney and all the people who work the door and concessions during. You do not go unnoticed in my book...
I personally dont care what the bracket looks like, where the heck we play or who's hot sister is watching me. Im just there to compete for a State title...

| Beat THE best to be THE best. Not face the lesser teams first so you can play the better teams later. Are the "stadium stealing" Saints playing at Midway, is that why it is unavailable?

| i like that games arent at midway anymore. shitty outfield not a very nice infield or mound. much rather play at tonka. I like the set up it makes things interesting, i would however like to see it mixed up again next year, if we keep the pool play match up st. paul/PN riverview/sky
