Thought this would be something new. What is everyone's opinions on the best and worst fields played on in the state.

This is only my personal experience, I hope I don't upset anyone.

Top:
1. Veterans (Fan of the field turf and grandstand)

2. Parade (Love the look of the Mpls. skyline and the ivy)

3. St. Anthony (Nicely maintained field all around, new features make it a fun park to play at, fences are short but make for fun amateur games)

4. Midway (Just the experience of playing at Midway)

5. Irondale (Please note, I have not played at the field in roughly 5 years. It used to be a nicely groomed field. I have heard it went down hill since then though)

Worst:
1. Dunning (Can't believe state games are being held here. Ant hill for a mound, horrible hops in the infield, deeper to right then center. The one positive is the large grandstand)

2. White Bear (Haven't seen that much sand since I lived in San Diego. Mosquito city with the swamp. Fields are never ready, looks like someone had a practice on them before a game)

3. Woodbury (For a town with that much money, they should spend some one the field)

4. Arlington/Arkwright (Bring your bullet proof vest)

5. Bethel (Hope you bring 50 brand new baseballs, cause you are going to need them)

6. McGuire Field (after the infield dirt you fall 2 feet down a hill to the outfield grass)

Your thoughts?

WORST: Soderville, wasn't a blade of grass on the whole field, all weeds. ground was hard and the fences were beat to hell with holes and gaps at the bottom all over.

As for Dunning, well I've been around for 23 years, and it used to be horrible. Little 13 stripe gophers running all over and their tunnel holes everywhere, big ruts all over infield. I think it's a pretty nice place to now, it does need some leveling out now, as evident by recent rains you could see where there were some high spots. It could use some clay in the right places and some tamping down, but for a city with crap for places to play, I'll take Dunning anytime.
Municipal Stadium, yes, it was Municipal before it was stolen by the Saints and renamed Midway.
Use to be THE TOP place to play, all painted green inside, I still remember back in late 80's when the region Legion tourney was hosted by Rosetown there, and the out of state kids came through the seating tunnels and their jaws dropped open in amazement. It was a cathedral. now it's a frickin circus and the field is in horrible shape. Let the Saints have it.
