| I just wanted to congratulate O'Malley's and Rebels for being this year's Co-Champs.
For those that don't know, O'Malley's beat us 4-3 in the 1st championship game, then we were tied 3-3 after 5 innings when both teams decided it was too dark and not safe enough to continue playing.
Top 3 finishers were: 1st - Rebels 1st - O'Malleys 3rd - Young Guns
For the most part, this was a well run league from everyone this year. I personally had some pains in the ass when it came to all the early rainouts and finding replacement fields, but other than that, I can count only a couple minor situations that arose this season that I had to mediate. That's a good thing.
I also want to applaud everyone that was at the playoffs. Everyone (especially the 7:30 start) showed up and played on time! I was one of the last to leave the field and though it was dark, it looked very clean as far as the garbage being placed neatly in or around the garbage cans. Everyone seemed to conduct themselves well and that only helps lead to a good reputation for the league. Hopefully we can get Dravosburg next year as well.
*************************************************
I hope to vote on a few changes to the league at the 2011 meeting.
Some of the items will be:
(A) to play seeds 5 vs 12 and 6 vs 11 as the first 7:30am games that way the seeds play themselves out, or to keep the 9-12, 10-11 seeds to start at 7:30 giving the 5 & 6 seeds an extra hour to be ready to play.
(B) to use a 1 and 1 count for the entire playoffs and not go to 0-0 for King seed and championship games, in an effort to save some daylight for the "if necessary" game to finish.
(C) This won't be voted on, this is just going to be the rule, but "A player CANNOT play the field, if they are not going to bat when they come up in the order" I understand this happened at the playoffs, because the team was misinformed that it was allowable. I play with a guy that said he played in the Bethel league and they do have the rule where it's allowed. I personally don't like it, so it will not be used in our league. I just wanted to put this out, because I never heard of this situation before in my 20 years of playing, so many of you might not have either.
(D) This will be a new rule also, that ALL SCHEDULED GAMES must get played that day, with respect to field conditions or some catastrophic reason. You have a 25 man roster, so you should be able to find 10 guys to play that game. If you fail to have enough guys, you will forfeit those games. It might seem a little rough, but teams can have enough games to make up due to rainouts, that cancelling a perfect weather game only throws them further back in the hole.
Hope to see everyone come back next season, all 2010 teams will get first chance at returning, before I seek and accept any new teams.
Have a great and safe off season and let's enjoy some football and hockey til we start up again!!
Thanks, Mike Lakovic

| First off - Congrats to Both O'Malleys and Rebels. Fields were in great condition. Hopefully we can get them again next year.
I understand the need to speed the games up, but what happened to the 6' - 12' arch rule? We got rung up a few times on pitches that were 20'+. The 1-1 count completely changes the game. Then you have to hit a pitch 20' in the air with 2 strikes and try not to foul out. It just felt like a different league. Obviously i'm venting a little because we lost our first 2 games and had an early exit, but wanted to see if anyone else had complaints about the high arch's and strike calls on Saturday.

| I dont know how i feel about having a team next year. the season, umps, and teams couldn't have been better. we just stunk and im tired of being embarresed and im tired of dealing with the politics. i know im a great player, but i have no excuse for the crappy players on my team who only showed half the season and when the did they stunk. i guess im just tired of people promising they'll be there and not showing up. i didn't feel as bad untill we showed up to playoffs and wern't ready to play and to top it off me and my brother bought food and a grill and after the games not one person stuck around. what a team right. i take this serious, this is my hobby, this is my passion. but for the people on my own team to treat it as a joke it makes me sick. I FUCKING HATE IT. we've played here for two years, they know this ain't a late day thing, and they tell you they'll be there the night before and they still don't show up. how do you win when you have a different team every weak? im a young guy and im embarressed to play with people my own age. maybe its time to go back into free agency. the only thing im scared of is people not wanting me to play on their team because my team the past couple years has been terrible. im a good player i just can't run a team for shit. i couldn't even play my own position because people are wining little bitches and dont want to play catcher or something like that. i mean how do you play good when one of you best players can't play the field because he wants to keep every one happy but how are you happy when you can't win. i just want have fun but i want to win too. these are the things that plaegued our season and im just venting. if im not going to have a team next year ,and thats an if, i still want to play in this league. if any of you have ever played on a bad team you will understand this rant. oh well hopefully i have a team to play for next.
all in all congrats to the co-champs.

| congrats to rebels and omallys. the arcs issue i had a problem with was one game the ump wasnt even giving me 12' and calling it high as soon as it left my hand, so my suggestion is they get tape measures and make sure they even know what 6-12' looks like. and wolfman, feel for ya bro, been runn a team alota years and been there done that. im still have probs sometimes. facebook me(jim morgenstern,) and get me your number and i never know whos comn back on my team so mayb ill need another mobster next season if u go that rout.
