| what do u think about wooden bats for next season ???? it would reduce the amout of balls bein lost in a run of a night ..cost on bats would be much cheaper for teams and players. You would not see a guy 120 lbs hitting jacks all the time .. even Crosby is a T-BALL field for some hitters . everyone talks that the league is all about fun !!!! wooden bats could make a major impact on the league.

| Ahh, the ASA standard. If I'm not mistaken, the golden rule there is supposed to be "the ball cannot exceed 99mph returning from the bat"... So, even a "legal" bat would get a speeding ticket on the highway.
Helmets - saw them, effective but ugly. Has anybody seen one around here?
Someone else had an interesting comment about the +2 rule - if "homerunguy" is up to bat, and ahead 2 homeruns, is he more likely to run one up the middle, trying to not hit a homerun that doesn't count?
No wood!

| In regards to wooden bats, this is an interesting idea, however, to cut down on homeruns, the current rule on +2 seems to doing that. The number of runs scored may be lowered better by adding another infielder...to play behind the pitcher...in bewteen the ss and the 2nd basemen.

| The Arms are utilizing the player behind the pitcher and they are 7th in the RA column. That doesn't seem to be working for them. I think the current homerun rule works okay. Keep the bats legal and give an old timer an opportunity once a year to hit one out.

| Whoa - slow down tarhell!! I guess you do not pitch!
Most guys do not intentionally put it back up the middle. If a homerun hitter decides to change his swing up because of the +2 rule, are we seeing more balls unintentionally going up the middle? I pitch pretty routinely, so I realize that anything right back up the middle is generally not planned at all.

| Lasting Impression how many slo pitch leagues do you know of using wooden bats? I understand what you are saying and if it bothers you that much then play another position. Most of the pitchers that I have spoke to in this league, and there have been many have mentioned that guys really don't shoot the box in this league. I personally rarely see it and when it happens apologies follow almost instantly. In my opinion if you believe that wooden bats should be used then you are in the wrong league and maybe you might look into the masters or Wednesday night league. I am sorry if this sounds harsh but I believe this to be a friendly but yet very competitive league and that's why I choose to join!
