| We are throwing a wood bat tournament in Benton, Mo. on October 16th. From the interest shown so far this should be a great time. Have had several people offer the use of their wooden bats. (Anyone that would be able to help out with bats would be great. Right now I have 8 bats that will be used by all teams on both fields. If you want to hit with your own wood bat then that will be fine, but it must be put out for all teams to use.
Entry Fee: $150.00
HR's: unlimited
Balls: Any 44/400 or 375 optic yellow
2 fields (short fences)
Planning to have a HR derby where everyone on every team can participate at NO cost to the players. (Prize will be $100.00 to the winner, this is based on 8 teams.)
Deal is, you hit as a team, with each player getting 5 pitches or 3 swings. If your team hits and you are not around then you can't jump in with a different team to hit. (It will go pretty quick like that) If there is a tie. then there will be a second round for the players that are tied, and the same 5/3 format will be used. If it goes into a 3rd round then it will be 2 pitch 1 swing until a winner is determined. (Sudden death, yes)
Looking to give something for most HR's and most hits in the tournament also. (This is still being worked out. Hope to have an official book at both fields)
Food and drinks will be available.
Looking into having a bon fire (Don't know all the hoops I'll have to jump through, but I'll know by the 2nd week of Sept.)
Also looking to having a band or some kind of entertainment out there.
Would love to have as many teams as pos. but with the Derby and all, I am going to shut this down at 8 teams.
Format will be 2/ 4 team pools with pool play then single elem. (4 GG)
HR Derby will be after pool play and before single elem starts.
