Another great weekend of baseball. The beer tent behind home plate was a lot of fun,the Cony championship was the best game of the finals, tight close and extra innings couldn't get much better. The final was probably one of the worst matchups in history.

Congrats to the Arms!!! Youth has been served!! They are skating on the ice in Hell!! After watching watching the play in the 2nd inning is there a bigger asshole in this league than Cookie!!! He should be thrown out of this league for his actions and he has done it for over 15 years!!!!

Thanks to Crupi for a great season and a good final. I spoke with many USPL members after the game, not one of them has any respect for that guy. I would suggest that he gets his old/slow ass in the Masters, but I'm sure they wouldn't want him either.

It is too bad the final game was a blowout. Youth has been served.

This was the greatest weekend ever in USPL history. All the games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday were exciting to watch, the food was great. The weather was not too bad and the beer tent location was brilliant. Thanks to all the organizers and executives of our league.

Congrats to the Arms.

Maybe I was a little agressive when trying to prevent a throw to home plate. Just a competitive instinct in the heat of the moment.
We got bombed by a much younger better ball team congrats to the ARMS for their win.

As for those who think that I care about what you think, you are sadly mistaken.

From what I saw that play by Still Cookin was the TSN turning point. His team got all over him for his "over aggressive" play and the Arms put up 36 runs to drive the point home.

Cooker is a GREAT man. What is wrong with being competitive? It was the championship game.

Good on you cooker, trying to rally your team. I appreciated your efforts for the stands.

We new it might be a long game when after their first 3 batters the Arms were already at their +2 for HR's. I think they ended up with about 10 HR's and another 15 hard off the fence. It was easily the best hitting display I had seen all year and no better timing for it. Congrats to the Arms, they beat some great teams to get to the finals and a hot Crupi team to win it.

Congratulations to my team Crupi as well for another strong season. Not winning it all is never fun but we should all be proud of making it to the finals.

Kerr, Crupi.

Still Cookin, do you stay up nights thinking of ways to embarrass yourself and your team, or does it just come naturally? Give your head a shake!

First of all, thanks to Chris Gonsalves and all those that helped setup a great weekend including Dave, Jim and Don our umpires. I know Chris spends many hours in preparation for this weekend. Secondly, congrats to the Arms for a great Sunday. I have never seen the ball hit so hard time after time in all three games they played. Lastly, congrats to Crupi for making the final. I must admit, I was hoping Scott and Kent and the rest of the Crupi boys could pull a victory in support of us old guys. With the young guns on the Arms, it might be a long time before us old guys seen a championship...

Cheers,

I would like to say that Crupi was a very tough team to beat. We were very thankful that our bats got so hot or that game could have got really interesting. I have so much respect for everyone on that team. Except for 1 moron. To hit a ground ball and attempt to throw your shoulder a 59 year old man is embarrassing and down right disrespectful. Softball is a fun game and when this moron try's to do something like that you wonder why we play the game. Us Arms boys like playing with our fathers and having a good time. The last thing we want to see is what you did yesterday, because i'm telling you it wouldn't have ended up good for you. You say you don't care what we think? Perfect, get the hell out of the league b/c we don't guys like you in it.

Ps. Thanks for doing that by the way, it gave us that much more motivation to put up 36 on your pitching. GO ARMS!!!!

Kent Taylor, you a beauty!!!!

Congats to the Arms Boys! Strong finish to a roller coaster season, culminating in a Championship. Great job by the vets bringing along the youth. Plumbers, Wing It and Crupi on a Sunday says something. Well earned !

For the record I was trying to block his line of site or throw to the plate. I was never within 3 feet of him nor did I ever intend to hit Joe.

I was just trying to protect if possible my team mate going home and try to score a run. We needed to manufacture runs anyway possible. That's it nothing more nothing less.

Dear Crupi & Arms Gentlemen,
Please accept my congratulations on your ride-to-the-prize.

I was proud to read a post regarding Father and Son's playing on Arms, having lost both of my parents I felt obligated to comment to say how great this is!

Again. My sincere congratulations on your victory. Just making the playoffs was a challenge for you Arms boys, so soak up the suds!

Cookin,
You didn’t say it at the time to Joe, you didn’t say it to him after the inning or even after the game. You haven’t said it (yet) here on the Forum. Just wondering if you’ve ever uttered the word “Sorry” in your life. You’d be amazed to see how far a little apology would go.

A big Congratulations goes out to The Arms boys!! That is a tough team to beat when they get rollin like that and 36 Runs in the final is impressive to say the least!
Unfortunately I didn't see the game but I heard there was some controversy.. We've all done some things in the heat of competition we wish we could take back. It was a great weekend with lots of good ball, good buddies and good beers! Forgive and forget I say.

Thanks to the Exec as always for putting on a great weekend!

Cookie, let's assume you're telling the truth (we all know what "assume" means), what about swearing at Pauly after sending him down when they were plus 2? What about glaring at Chris when the ball he pitched bounced short and you stood there and let it hit you? Your actions speak louder than words. I just don't think these things can be explained away by being competitive and trying to help your team. It appears you simply motivated the wrong team

Or when Jayden shot the box and when he ended up on 2nd base he called time to check to see if you were ok. What did you do? You turned your head and mumbled some crap under your breathe. Real class act from the first inning to the end when shaking hands you didn't even say a damn word. On behalf of the entire Arms team I would like to thank you for giving us the added motivation after that first inning to score as many runs on you as possible. I'm pretty sure we did our best, if the final score was any indication. I honestly hope you stay in the league so we can hit off you again and again. I understand that in the heat of battle things are said and people act out of character. But all can be forgotten with 2 simple words "I'm sorry". Don't worry no one on our team with be holding our breath.

To all the teams we played in the playoffs, you guys were very, very tough competitors. I was truly nervous going up against a VG team that I picked to win the whole thing this year, and a Plumbers team that wanted revenge after Friday night. Wing it, you guys had a tremendous year and should be very proud. Truly a class act team and I have never heard anyone say anything bad about any single player on your team.

Crupi, you guys played hard right to the end. There was no quit in your game, I really admire that. Congratulations for getting to the finals.

Thank you to the entire board for yet another great USPL year. See everyone Oct 15th.

Guys..Let it go. There was no motivation needed for the Arms to win the game. Who are you kidding? The Arms hit the ball hard..end of story. I would have liked to see any team in the USPL defend thier hitting that game. We have all played them before, and that's the first time I've seen them hit like that. They had the best game of their live's at the right time. They deserved to win..period.

As for the teams wondering how we made the finals and were shocked. We played well all weekend with 15 guys, I may add. We were pleasantly suprised by our play and effort.

As for some people saying we were in the weaker division? Any team in the top 10 was good enough to win it, so I'm not sure I buy that argument. We played some tough teams to get to the finals and they were great games.

Lets move on and enjoy the winter..because, spring will be around the corner before you know it. Next year, we'll be talking about who the best team in the league is and if the Arm's will repeat as champs. The rest will be forgotten...

Game of our lives? How about the 25 runs we put up against Plumbers. The 26-6 score against a very good VG team and then #^ up against Crupi. You can have a lucky game, not a lucky weekend.

This team is only going to get more scary with years to come. Having a lot of young buddies in the league wanting to play together the league better take notice that we are for real. Dynasties are very rare in sports these days. The NHL had the Oilers & Islanders. The NFL had the Steelers & Cowboys. The NBA had the Celtics & Lakers. Now, Unionville will have the "Big Red Machine" Arms!

From all the chirping we had to endure this summer it sure feels good to sit back and do a little chirping ourselves.

We are Champions!!! Know one can ever take it away from us. Enjoy it boys!!!!

Believe me, I "know" one can take it away from you...and I hope it's my team. Sorry, I'm a teacher and things like that jump out at me.
I'm sure it must be hard to avoid all the chirping you can - given what the Arms endured all season. I'm not even sure if you're on the Arms because we know how guys love to post sh*t when they're not even on the team. Do yourself a favour though and resist. Don't fall into the kind of chatter that earned the team the reputation it worked so hard to dispell. The target on your backs just got bigger with the weekend's results...it doesn't need to get any bigger.

Hey ArmsDynasty...Someone sent this along to me, which I thought was interesting and made for good reading.

1. Going into the Playoff's Arms averaged 14.04 runs per game
2 Going into the Playoff's Crupi averaged 16.4 runs game
3.Arms scored more than 20 runs on 5 occassions
4.Crupi scored more than 20 runs on 6 occassions, 3 of which were over 30 runs.

Arms never scored 30 runs all season..

Which is why I'm saying they had the game of their lives..I'm not taking anything away from their win..They hit the ball when they needed to...They played well all weekend..Just stating the facts.

Thanks Jamie. Who knows if half of these guys are on the ARMS. After we played our last game on sunday, we all discussed our names, and none of these look authentic. As a young player, I hate being targeted. I just wanna go out there and have fun with my friends in the league. So before everyone starts hating my arms, we're all good spirited guys just having fun! Great year. And I agree with Octo, we did play the best games of our year for sure! Well timed too!
Cheers,

Its not quite fair to say they had the game of their lives. The top of their order consistently hits the ball hard of year. The difference maker is when the bottom comes through like they did with base hits, which in turn turns the line up back over to the top.

Yes it is fair to say....Just like Halak had the playoff of is life last year against the Capitals. Teams gel at the right time...which you guys did. Your vets hit well, your "killers" hit well, your allstars hit like allstars...all day. That's why you won. You all played great that weekend. Congratulations again. Savour he victory, don't brag or gloat..because like Jamie says, your team doesn't need any more haters going in to next season. Have a slice of humble pie...and come out next year, win your division and repeat as champs. Then no one can dispute your accolades.

An interesting fact about October 2010:

This October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, all in 1 month. It happens once in 823 years. What happens every playoff weekend is a disgusting display by CP.

Imhoff - Don't believe everything you read on the internet. A year can only start on one of seven days, so there are seven possible basic calendar years. Add leap years, and there are fourteen basic calendars. Period. And one of those calendars only gets used every 823 years? How would that be possible? It’s not of course, all fourteen calenders get cycled through regularly, in fact 2010 uses the exact same calendar as 1999. Sorry to burst your bubble.
