The first annual Twins Open bowling night took place Thursday, Dec 30 at the Hanover Bowling Center. Game number one featured a young guys versus old guys contest, with the old guys (Stormes, Tracey, Meckley, Baumgardner, Zaminski Sr, and Zaminski Jr) emerging with an easy victory. The young dudes had plenty of excuses for their piss poor performance. Martin was upset because was unable to find a 36 pound ball house ball. Aumen couldn't maintain his balance because of all the bling hanging off his left hand. Renoll thought the contest was who could roll the ball the fastest. Collins was pist about his lack of face time in the 2011 Twins calendar. The Emlet brothers were too distracted by the girls in the next lane. And Joe D was too busy looking like a stud. While the old guys prevailed, the high bowlers of each team - Burt Stormes and Nate Emlet - were each rewarded with a team calendar. Stormes said he was inspired by knowing that Jerpy Reinhart likely rolled on these same lanes, while Emlet said his clutch performance just came down to him having the Eye of the Tiger.

After the Bermudian boys ditched without paying, a 2nd team contest was held. This time, the two highest overall bowlers from game one, Stormes and Meckley, drafted teams. Stormes took Baumgardner with the number one overall draft choice, followed by Tracey, Martin and Renoll. Meckley opted for Z Sr, then took flyers on Aumen and Collins before getting stuck with Baby Dave. With $5 per person on the line, the intensity was intensely intense. Team Edward (Stormes) looked to have an early edge, with Renoll picking up his game big time, but first round draft pick Baumgardner was disappointing. That allowed Team Jacob to hang close, thanks to clutch keggling by old man Z. Still, Team Jacob trailed by about 15 pins with three frames to go when captain Meckley rallied the troops with an emotional pep talk not seen since Knute Rockne or Braveheart. That is when Collins channeled his inner Earl Anthony and marked in the tenth, setting off a wild celebration on the Team Jacob bench. While Team Edward was disappointed with the loss, they were comforted by learning the Hanover Bowling Center had named an entire league after Martin.
