Author TOPIC: 2011 GCFFA SPRING LEAGUE **** COACH'S MEETING*****
GCFFA

Entry #: 3641959
2011 GCFFA 9-MAN SPRING LEAGUE
COACH'S and CAPTAINS MEETING

WHEN.....

• 6:30pm Tuesday, January 25, 2011

WHERE......

• Sliver City Sports Bar & Grill
275 Research Parkway  Meriden,  CT 06450
(located inside the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel)

WHAT.....

• This will be an opportunity for the GCFFA to present our 2011 9-man Ineligible Spring League Package. All team representatives will have an opportunity to ask questions and add input as this will be an open forum to discuss the details of the upcoming league

WE WILL BE DISCUSSING MANY TOPICS, BUT ASK YOU TO TAKE TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE FOLLOWING KEY ITEMS.......

• LOCATION......Wilby High in Waterbury is our current home and can accommodate up to 24 teams. However some captains have expressed interest in finding a new or 2nd location in Meriden.

• COSTS.......the current proposal features an "early" entry discounted rate of $325.00 and a "final" registration rate of $475.00. Keep in mind the use of a 2nd facility may cause these figures to change

• FEATURES......everything from CASH prizes, local and national BIDS, t-shirts, trophy's and awards as well as basic statistics (TD's, Sacks, INT's), team and individual photo packages, uniform and equipment options, website standards among other items are all up for consideration

• TEAMS......as we all know there is going to be a bit of uncertainty or hesitation by many teams who are undecided on what league is best for them. The bottom line is most teams will land where the top competition is, that idea is the basis for which I designed or spring prize and feature package. It is my hope that these meetings will allow coach's and captains the opportunity to hear the thoughts and intentions of teams directly from each other rather than 2nd hand or rumors. We also will discuss whether or not to allow out of state teams to participate as we have been approached by the newly crowned MCFFU National Champion NY Gladiators as well as fellow national power New England Connection (Rhode Island).

• RULES, OFFICIALS, ROSTERS and DEADLINES

If you are interested in our spring league and plan on attending this meeting please review these items and share your thoughts.

If for any reason you or your team cannot be represented at this meeting but would like more information about the league please contact myself directly as soon as possible.

I thank you all for your time and consideration and look forward to providing you the best league possible. A league for the players operated by the players!

Sincerely,

Chris Severino

With the support and sanctioning of the MCFFU, the GCFFA(Connecticut), HVTFFL(Upstate New York), LI 9-man(Long Island New York), and DMV 9-man(DC,Maryland,Virginia) leagues, and possibly others, have come together to form the NORTHEAST LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.

This Championship Series has been created to bolster league play on a local, state and regional level, foster new and exciting rivalries and provide a stage for the very best teams to compete against one another for league and state supremacy.

Each league will follow the same basic format in the Spring season, which ultimately will see a league Champion and runner-up crowned. At the conclusion of the league championship game, both the league Champion and runner-up from the above mentioned participating leagues will be sponsored by their home league to participate in the MCFFU's NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.

This single weekend event will be held in early July at a neutral site to be determined at a later date. The 8 teams will be put into brackets for two games on Saturday and a single elimination championship round on Sunday. Each league will be posting $1000 for the cash prize along with a paid bid to the 2011 MCFFU NORTHEASTERN NATIONALS, held in NY,NY in mid September.

We will be releasing a fully detailed package within the next few weeks. Please contact us with any questions, comments or ideas you may have.

We look forward to being the flagship league for this extremely exciting new format that will take the 9-man game to heights not yet seen before!
