SEASON:

The regular season will begin on Sunday March 27, 2011. We will be playing a 10 game regular season plus playoffs. (Subject to change if additional teams register)

The regular season schedule will be uploaded to the website no later than March 20, 2011. Double Headers are available upon request and will be used to complete the schedule in a timely manner. As it stands, if we do not have any further delays due to field conditions, we will complete the regular season on June 5th .

PLAYOFFS:

The Playoffs will feature both and PRO and OPEN Division. The opening round of the playoffs is scheduled for June 12, 2011. This will be the four PRO Division opening round games and the first round games for the OPEN Division. On June 19th 2011 we will have our PRO Division Semi-finals/Championship and our OPEN Division Championship.

The PRO Division Champion and Runner-up will then advance to the MCFFU Northeast Super League 9-man Regional Championship Round to be held in Westchester NY on July 9th and 10th 2011 to compete against the representatives from the Long Island League, Westchester League, and the North Jersey League. The OPEN Division Champion and Runner-up will have the OPTION to compete in the MCFFU Northeast Super League 8-man Regional Championship Round against the representatives from the Hudson Valley League, Rhode Island League and the Long Island League.

RULES:

We will be using the complete MCFFU 9-man Ineligible Rulebook

COPIES OF THE RULEBOOK CAN BE DOWNLOADED USING THE MCFFU WEBSITE LINK FROM OUR MAIN MENU

The following items have been voted on for our spring season. These rules deviate from the MCFFU Rulebook and will only be in effect in our league games. Teams that qualify for the MCFFU Northeast Super League Regional Championships will be playing under the MCFFU Rulebook without exceptions

1. GAME CLOCK:
32 minute halves with NFL stoppages inside the 2 minute warning of both halves
2. KICKOFFS:
We will only be kicking off at the start and stop of each half of football

REF FEES:

The ref fees for the 2011 season will be $45 per team per game. The GCFFA will pay the ref fees for the PRO Division Semi-finals and Championship game.

EACH TEAM MUST PAY A FULLY REFUNDABLE $90 FORFEIT FEE BEFORE THEIR FIRST SCHEDULED GAME OF THE SEASON. If a team forfeits these fees will be used to pay the officials for both teams. The forfeiting team must then pay a new $90 forfeit fee in order to compete in their next game. After 2 forfeits, the forfeiting team will be removed from the league for the remainder of the season.

ROSTERS:

Team Rosters are to consist of NO MORE than 30 players. These initial rosters are due to the league no later than March 10th 2011. Players and teams have until the completion of the 3rd game of the regular season to move freely to another team (however no team can exceed the 30 man roster). Final Rosters must be confirmed prior to the 4th game of the season

Players MUST compete in 3 regular season games in order to be playoff eligible. The league and team captains will be responsible for logging in all players each week for verification.

The PLAYOFF ROSTER limit is 25 players. These 25 players must be from your final “locked” roster due to the league prior to your teams 4th regular season game.
The Playoff roster must be turned in during the week between the final regular season game and the first game of the playoffs

NORTHEAST FLAG ALLIANCE

At the moment we have 6 leagues that are affiliated with the NORTHEAST FLAG ALLIANCE but many more have inquired about becoming a part of this rapidly growing union. Each league will offer either a 9-man Division or an 8-man A (Elite) Division and some will offer both. Again, the leagues will be operating under the same basic format with 1 rulebook, roster stipulations, and general standards that must be met across the board. We feel very confident in the organizations on board in their abilities to carry out our standards and elevate the game as you know it.
