| I have been nominated by the LLS organization as a candidate for Man Of The Yr. I am thrilled to be asked and have accepted this challenge in honor of Gregg "Dog" Madsen who had a marrow transplant and is battling every day as I type this.
Please help me and the LLS raise funds for their organization so they can continue to do research which will lead to ridding the world of all cancers.

| Let's make this work...Dutilly's idea about the Mensa boy's guarantee of offensive domination could put some money towards a good cause. If he takes the bet and we lose- money goes here. If he takes the bet and wins he can do what he wants with it.

I am thinking about running a preseason tourney for 150 per team with 2 30 packs to each team participating and I have to talk to rob about club jokes and someone about amby smith.
All proceeds would go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Would their be any interest in this. Please give some nice feedback.

| This is gonna happen. $150 per team, some have said they will pass the hat and give more possibly. I will give each team 2 30 packs. I spoke to the powers that be and we have permission for the fields.
I have either spoken to or left messages with all managers and am awaiting some teams responses but I think most are going to play in this.
I appreciate all the support and I will upgrade the site as soon as I have spoken to all managers.
I am going to split this up into last yrs top8 and last yrs bottom 8 so someone in the bottom 8 doesn't have to play a powerhouse like CM.
It will give every teama chance to get a look at their guys and play fairly equal competition.
This is a fundraiser and I want everyone to have fun.
All teams should ask their sponsor for the entry fee as it will be made payable to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and fully deductible. Anyone who writes a ck can deduct it.

| I would like to do pool play with pool winners moving on to single elimination, which would give every team at least 3 games against a different opponent.
This is a great way for teams to get out there and see how their new pick ups will look and their team, instead of a boring BP session.

| Thanks Ian. I didn't want to take teams outside of Coventry but I do have 2 interested. Gary's WarwicK team and Jeff Paiva's E.Prov team.
If I do take them I will put both in the upper bracket.
I have spoken to both and told them I was giving all teams in the league 1st chance.
I really want to do the 3 game guarantee so it may help to take them to even off the pools and still separate the upper 8 and lower 8.

| Tuck, Embrace/Hope should have enough if you already don't have us in....I'll speak to Chip this morning to make sure. Looking forward to it....as a matter of preference, keeping it Coventry only seems best if we have enough teams but I'm for whatever helps the cause the most.
Whichever Coventry teams don't have enough players to field a squad, I could get 6 or 7 guys from Newport to spread out to fill a roster amongst a couple teams if need be.
Great cause!!

| We have 16 teams, only 2 teams from the league opted out so I took 2 outside teams to even off everything, it is a fundraiser.
I spoke to Rick Souza there will be Utrip umpires there.
I also am going to do a 3 game guarantee and will post brackets for pool play this Sat.
We will be using Club Jocques, Foster, Nike and Wash Oak.
Once you go to a field, that is your field for pool play.
After pool play the lower bracket and upper bracket will have SEPARATE championship games.
El Presidente, I could use some help putting the pools together.
I wanted to thank everyone in the league for once again stepping up for a great cause. You guys are unbelievably generous and very unselfish.
People give me credit for doing what I do and I always come back with without great friends and great people none of it is possible.
I am proud and amazed at your generosity and desire to help others and Guy is damn lucky to have a league made up of guys with such great character.

I just wanted to explain that I tried to even things out as much as possible.
Embrace and Invaders were put in Pool B because they both have a lot of new faces and Ian and I discussed it as being the fairest way to do it.
Also put the lower brackets on the 2 fields I thought they would have the most fun.
I want and hope everyone has a good time.

I understand this is a charity tourney, but there will be a level of competitiveness on the field. Why are CM and Botehlo in same pool, just figured they would be the top 2 in seperate pools in the top. On the same note, should Invaders and Embrace be the top 2 in the lower.

| As I stated earler I put the Invaders and Embrace there because both teams had a lot of pick ups and had 2 put 2 teams there.
1 and 2 in the same pool doesn't mean anything, I separated the upper and lower and then drew them out of a hat for position except for PNA because I put the 2 non league teams in our bracket so nobody would complain about them being there.
I took the outside teams because I would not have been able to separate upper and lower teams because there were 2 less lower teams and give everybody a 3 game guarantee.
No tournament format is easy but I really think that this was the way to let everybody have a good time.
I also put the 2 lower pools on the shortest fields so they could have fun with that as well.

| A big part of my fundraising campaign is to not only raise money but to raise awareness.
Part of that is getting people to sign up for the bone marrow registry, where they swab your mouth and you are put in the registry as a possible match to save someone's life.
AJ Costa is in the registry and in fact he received a call about a possible match and had some blood work done and is awaiting the results which take 4-6 weeks.
I only bring this up because the registry will actually come out to the fields to sign people up.
Would anyone be interested in that. Could I have some feedback.
Getting swabbed is painless and I think all you need is an insurance card as it is covered under insurance plans.
I wouldn't want to have them come out unless we could sign up at least 20 people.
Yes, even the drunks of Coventry can sign up,lol. Ugliness also is not a deterrent, they let me sign up.

Awesome job raising awareness. I really wish I could be there playing. It is great to see the league check in and help out for a great cause.
Greg(Dog) Madsen should be an inspiration to every one of us. As tuck said, he is battling this every day. With all of the issues that he has gone through, you never hear anything negative come from his mouth. PMA!!! Great job everyone. Remember that it is just a game in the end. Life is too short and you never know what the next day brings.

| i talked to tucker last night for a long time. it's unbelievable how dedicated and passionate he is with this cause, and the others he has been involved in.

but of all the people we know that have been swabbed, only one person we know has gotten a call as a match.
