| Ok people here is something that is puzzling me. Chad Gibson, rocket scientist and commish of the Western Mass Flag Football League, has decided that he is moving his league to Sundays. He has a monopoly on saturdays as he is the only football league operating on that day. Who in their right mind would make that move. He seems to think that EVERYONE would rather play in his league and he will put our league and the WMTFL out of business. All he is doing is diluting the talent in all 3 leagues which is the dumbest of many dumb decisions he has made in pathetic life. Would appreciate everyones thoughts on this and feel free to make fun of Chad in the process

| Tim...I spoke with Chad today and he has every right to move his league to a different day. I know a lot of guys liked the fact that they can play two games each weekend. But, as I have said all along, flag football and touch football are very different. Chad also will be making his league into a nine man a side with lineman NOT eligable. That alone is a HUGE difference to our league. We play 8 a side WITH lineman eligable. That means that 5 players are eligable in flag football. In touch football, you have 7 eligable receivers. That makes a big difference in defensive stratagies too. Of course the biggest difference is that flag football puts a premium on QB's that are quick and can run well. Add to that, lineman are not eligable means that you need big lineman that are skilled at primarily run blocking. In touch, you need a QB that is a passer and personel that can pass block and pass catch. This also means that offensive stratagies are very different too. So, in the end, although it is the same sport (football), the game is very different. It all depends on what appeals to that person/player more. As to the P.V.T.F.L. ,we will start another season in August and play at least 12 regular season games and have another great post season!

| My only question would be if this is any way would change the times of our games due to field availabilty or whAt not. Enter my team in this league because it's what best fits me and my players schedules. I would assume it wouldn't seeing how " we were here first" so we should get our same field times. Dave could you shine a little light on this?

| NOTHING will change about the P.V.T.F.L. we have the same fields at the same times as always. As far as teams leaving.. NO TEAM has called me to say that they are leaving the P.V.T.F.L. for the 2011 season. As of today, last seasons top 8 teams are scheduled to return.

| I never said he didn't have the right to move to sundays. All I'm saying is that it is a stupid decision

| It's only April...a lot can happen between now and August. As I said earlier, I spoke with Chad and the decision to move to another day was not totally his, but that his league had all the teams from his league at the meeting, and it was pretty much a unanimous vote to switch to another day. To move to another day is not an easy one to make. Im sure Chad had to get all the referee's on board too. That alone must have been difficult to do because the ref's that work for that league have other commitments, so that must have took a lot of effort on Chads part to work that out.

| Just an FYI to everyone...The P.V.T.F.L. has secured Holyoke H.S. field for this season. Games will be held on Sundays at the same times as in previous seasons. We are also working on securing another premium field for our games, stay tuned. I may have more info on this at our May meeting.
