| Can someone please explain to me how Barrie/North York and Toronto have there diamonds ready. There leagues are already up and running. Does it not rain in North York and Toronto? Please don't tell me that we had a worse winter then Barrie. This is ridiculous!!!
Sorry, just letting off some steam. I'm sure everyone is just as annoyed as me.

| We should all send a email or call the town for an explanation. Our tax dollars need to be spent appropriately.

| This has nothing to do with Bundy. He does all he can for our league and people that know him understand. I just find it funny how this is the case. I was throwing some balls with my little brother yesterday at Crosby and the diamond seemed fine. Sure the grass needs to be cut and the diamond racked, other then that LETS PLAY BALL!!

| Funny how our limited access to the diamonds came right after our difficulties securing permits for Crosby this season. Think that's the Town sayin' something? I'm interested to know the answer to that. I think our 6:30 parking lot festivities often cross paths with family T-Ball night, ice-cream and strollers, dog walkers, bike riders etc... The later games finish at 9:30 and 11, not sure the same backdrop exits at that time. Maybe it's time for a league-wide ban from pops in the Crosby lot after the 6:30 games. TL has followed that rule for a while now. We have a local Rev as well as business dudes on our squad and the scene wasn't always cool. 8pm right after a Crosby game is a perfect chance to do a team night at one of our great sponsor restaurants. It would be nice if they saw each team at least once during the season. I know we only have one 6:30 Crosby on the schedule, so it's not that big of a deal for us. If we throw the old dog a bone here, we might just get a little closer to getting what we want moving forward. Just my thoughts boys. Curious what you all think.... rain, rain, go away....... !

| Btw, #19, you missed the smiley face on my comment about Steve. I was just kidding around. I know and appreciate all the good work he does on behalf of the league.

| The ban is for ALL FIELDS (soccer, baseball, football etc.) not the USPL.

| Drove by Crosby today and the diamond has been raked/dragged. Not sure about the grass though as I was to preoccupied with the lack of third level on the fence.

| I heard the delay is due to the Crupi boys burying jerseys in the outfield.

| Guys,
As stated, this is a Town of Markham parks and Rec wide ban...no one is centering on our league. All fields, soccer, baseball, rugby are closed until the fields (more so grass)can dry up. All sports leagues (kids, soccer, etc.) have been put on hold. Read below what is on the home page.
"Because of the rain that we have received the operations staff have not been able to get equipment onto the fields and diamonds. With the soft ground conditions tractors used to cut the soccer fields and ball diamonds would sink into the saturated soil, leaving ruts and causing a very unsafe situation. Most fields have not even received a first cut of the season, as a result no lines have been laid down for use. Ball diamonds in many cases have standing water and pre-season grading and dragging cannot begin until they dry out. They are calling for warm weather today and into the short term forecast which will help to dry up the fields and diamonds and make it possible to do maintenance.
As good stewards of the fields I know that you understand and can agree that waiting for use is in the best interest of the fields and the safety of your participants. Use of the fields when they are this wet can cause extreme damage to a field. During the evening and weekends Town staff will be monitoring the fields for use in the next week. Should groups chose to use a field it may result in a suspension or loss of permit."
Hopefully the rain stays away next week and we'll be ready for the 16th. Let's hope the forecast for rain next Wed and Thursday is wrong and things dry up. Look outside anyone?? What a surprise!

| Went by Crosby last evening. Lawn is mowed, but it probably needs another run-through since the grass was pretty long. However, NO work being done on the fence as of yet.

| Saw the Town out at Crosby today. Not sure if they were mowing the diamond or Parkview P.S. (or both)
Fence is still not down/touched.
