Hi Ladies,
I'm writing to all of you dog lovers out there.
Several years ago, when these two Shepherds were puppies we were not able to care for them properly, so my step uncle was excited to take them.
Unfortunately, he has recently decided that he wants to abandon his duties and is going to put these two perfectly healthy ten year old German Shepherd dogs to sleep for no reason at all. My father would take them back, but we'd be back in the same situation we were years ago when we had to give them away and won't be able to give them the attention they deserve and would not be fair to the dogs.
We are looking for a LOVING home. We realize this is a tough age to take the dogs at, but my father has taken them both to the vet and the groomers in the last two weeks and they are extremely healthy, with the exception of the typical tiredness that comes from age. As I've mentioned, they are ten years old, Martini and Rossi - brother and sister. They went through puppy training back in the day and in a loving home are extremely gentle. The current owner has a young son who is 6 and the dogs are great with him. That being said, if they aren't cared for and loved properly, aggression may be a result. But they are VERY loving dogs.
There is no proper reason as to why my step mom's brother wants to put them down, he's basically just sick of taking care of them, which is a ridiculous excuse. We've attempted to reason with him, but some people just don't get the whole picture I guess. That's a whole other battle we're dealing with - but we really cannot see any harm done to these gorgeous dogs and are in dire need of help! We will worry about dealing with my uncle after Martini and Rossi are safe.
If you know of anyone who is willing to give these dogs a home for their last few years, PLEASE contact me immediately!
I'm scared that my step mom's brother will put them down without giving us notice in order to avoid the confrontation and I need to find them a safe and loving home.
