| Guys, I would like to get your thoughts on this:
I was thinking of inviting my little league ball players (ages 9&10) to our game against the Hornets on June 4th. I would have them come for BP, watch the game, and then maybe do three hitting stations afterward for about an hour. One tee work station, one soft toss, and one live BP station on the field. Groups of 3-4 kids.
Can I count on help from a few guys and do you think that we want kids around for BP before a big game? Let me know what you think.

| I think it is a great idea Frank, big game or not. My only concern is that is a long time to keep them entertained. From the start of bp to an hour after the game. Could be 5-6 hours. Maybe that wouldn't be a problem, you know them better than I do. In the words of Spot Conlon, "I say, that whatchu say, is what I say."

| The nice thing is that the first hour 11-12 would be exciting for them. From 12-1 when we stretch, warm-up, and take ins and outs they can be playing on the playground.
The good thing with a bunch of boys is that they keep each other occupied/entertained. The kids that I have on the team that would show up would almost certainly sit and watch the game.
I would honestly only expect roughly 6 or 7 kids at the most to show up.

| No, and I will tell you why.
If you, Mr. Hill, learned how to hit, that lineup would really be dangerous.

| Another idea might be to allow whoever wants to be a bat boy and if multiple kids want to we can trade innings. Another kid can be the guy that goes to warm up the right fielder. Another could be the guy who throws the ball to me and Kirby when we come in to hit... there is plenty for them to do.

| Very good idea Frank! I'm all for it, I will help as long as I can afterward. This could be something these kids may remember the rest of their lives!

| Count me and Hunter in. I may invite our 13 year olds also, or do you guys think we should get them there another home game?

| Frank, love the idea. We need to get the young kids loving this game as soon as we can.
Aug, I would say that getting a different game for your group would be better. I think that way each group of kids would get a better experience.

| Ok guys, I have flyers made that I am going to hand out tonight at our game. The flyers say that the kids can come and stay from 11:00-5:00. The kids will shag balls during BP at their favorite position, they will be given a hot dog and soda at the beginning of the game (don't worry Denny, if you need me to I will pay for them), the opp. to be bat boy if they want, etc. After the game we will give them a little live BP, some tee work/soft toss, and work on the quickswing. I should only need about 5 people to help afterward, depending on the turnout.
Ugger, you should set up a day when the 13 year olds can come. I think the difference in age would be tough to overcome in trying to set up effective drills.
Thanks for your help guys, these kids will be thrilled.
