| Shouldn't the higher seeds from the regular season at least be the home team?

| I would think the first place team should have some sort of advantage in the tournament but they have none. It's really poorly put together. I'd agree with the favorable match-up comment. However, the most favorable match-up for the one seed is to play the six seed, not the fifth. So please try to explain to me where exactly our advantage is as the best regular season team.

| However, props on the pool play format this year. Nicely done in that respect.

| And the 2&3 seeds are always on the opposite side from the 1. Now if you guys put it like it should be and we lose to McBride or Titans I'll come back and complain that you changed it to the way it should be :p

| Hey I have been in tourneys for over 30 years.... they can be run many different ways...
Round Robin with 1, 3, 5 and 2, 4, 6 is done all the time.
What are you whining about? play ball and play your 3 games. Best team that night will win.
Fresh coin flip.... per game.
If the ball is hit to you catch it, if you get a chance to hit with guys on base... do it. That is what will determine the games.
Poorly run league... come on... do we need any more drama? Step up and help out next year and go to all the meetings.

| How do you not understand what we are complaining about? It's simple as this, we gain no advantage by being the best team in the regular season. In A and C league the #1 team gets an advantage by only having to win one game to get to the title. Because of pool play we do not get that same advantage. (Don't get me wrong pool play is a great idea. I commend you for doing that.) Where my problem lies is the fact that the #1 seed does not get "favorable match-ups" and there isn't even a home team advantage. I've played a lot of tournaments in my life too and the top team always has some sort of advantage. We have none. And I didn't say it was a poorly run league I said the tournament was poorly put together, and I stand by that. If you want help next year give me a call 618-318-2782. I'll gladly help if it means things actually get done right.

| You're supposed to catch the ball when it's hit? Hit the ball when you are up to bat? Geez, thanks for that info!
Look if we go out and get beat twice by whoever, guess what? I will go home and lay my head down on my pillow and I won't lose sleep over what happened. Most guys on our team play softball once a week, and we have been together playing for a while. We like getting together as friends and playing.Softball isn't our life.
That doesn't make what you guys are trying to do right. Like Drew said, being 1st in the regular season has done nothing for us. I have never been a part of ANY tournament where there is regular season play and the bracket or the pools are set up like this. It's just not done. I can see if you go on a Saturday tournament where there is NO regular season play and setting up a tournament like this. That would be logical.
Also, why is it that our tournament is on Thursday? Is it that McAlisters can't play on Wednesday? It seems that way to me.Both the A and C league tourneys were on Wednesday. You guys played one Wednesday game all Summer. We won't have 3 guys there this Thursday. Last time we played you guys on Thursday we had to find 6 people to fill our roster to make 10. I told John at the first of the year that we would have troubles playing on Thursday. I did expect to have to play on Thursday sometimes. I knew that. But then even our makeup game what was supposed to be on Wednesday got moved to Thursday(There were no games on that Wednesday either). I was told that make up games would be scheduled for the same night of the week that they were originally supposed to be played.
In my first reply all I asked was to at least assign the higher seed as the home team. Then I got a smart remark "Thanks for asking" "higher seeds have an advantage". Come on. Really?
I enjoy playing. It's fun. Like I said, we don't need to be softball champions to feel like we have accomplised something. We'll go and play Thursday, tournament pools right or wrong, and we'll go on about or lives as usual.
Thanks

| Believe me, I do get what you are talking about.
Maybe too much coffee for me this morning, did not mean to be edgy.
John and I discussed the end of season several times... we opted for this format for competition sake... better games are better games. We did the same thing in the Good Life League with 1, 3 & 4 in pool play with 2, 5, & 6.
This is not the world series.... when you guys are running the league a few years from now... you can set this up the way you want. We are open for discussion before the season, but the details during the year do pile up... and we go with the best way to go and that is that.
Hope you have a good tourney... it is all just fun~!
