All team reps were asked to vote to make up both games that were missed due to the weather or to make up one game. SEVEN teams voted to play both games, TWO teams voted to make up one and ONE team was neutral. By popular vote, the league will make up both games missed. We will make up the first game missed on Sunday November 13th. We will make up last Sundays game on Sunday November 20th and the playoffs will begin on Sunday, November 27th

Dave,
One thing you might want to consider and I am not trying to sway games not to be played but with the fact that we pushed the regular season to November 30th now, 1 big snow storm and the City of Holyoke will close the turf field for the year. With this being said, we'd have to scramble for fields during the playoffs which will run through Christmas. Thoughts?

I agree with Mike. These seven teams that voted aren't taking into consideration the fact that once the high school season ends on thanksgiving Holyoke will not care about the field anymore. Superbowls aren't even play there anymore. This could cause a really miserable end to the season...

I understand the fact that there is a good chance the weather is going to get colder and not warmer as we move forward. In my years dealing with the Holyoke P&R the High School field Would be playable as long as it's not under snow. Teams have to understand and accept the fact that we may have to move our post season to another site. Most likely ludlow field and or Whitney Park. Needless to say, there is a very good chance wherever we play it's going to be less than ideal field conditions.

Was this something that was brought up when the decision to extend the season was discussed. I just think it's crazy to play into late December when we are trying to scramble for fields to use... Holyoke will likely like Tony said close after Thanksgiving Day if we do get snow b/c they won't care about us. I remember playing at Ludlow in the Super Bowl three years ago and we played but the conditions weren't good. I'm all for playing games and playing in the cold but this is something to think about before this week's games end.
It looks like the standings are all bunch and these three weeks could decide a lot so that has to be something else to look at.

The post season will begin on NOV. 27. The Super Bowl will be held on DEC. 11. We have played into December in previous years (and at Holyoke HS). But it was under 5 inches of snow that year (2005). The year you are referring to was in Ludlow (2007). With that said, there is a very good chance that we will have a post season played on fields covered in snow. The first game that was postponed back in Sept. is a week of games that have division significance. Last weeks games are mostly, if not all non-divisional, but teams voted to include those in the make-up. The only scenerio that could help is that we play a game on Saturday and then on Sunday. That way, we still get all the games in and add only ONE extra week to our season. This way, the Super Bowl would be held on Dec. 4th. The only issue there is availability of players and Refs. for a Saturday slate of games.

One more thing, NOBODY....hates the cold more than I do. Anything under 75 degrees and I get very cranky! So, no one hates playing on cold snowy fields more than me. But no matter how we deal with this, the fact remains that it's going to be cold, and probably snow covered no matter if we started the playoffs this Sunday! Me + cold = cranky commish!

I'm not sure if the other team reps contacted their teams about this vote but ours didn't. I can see making up one game but two is a little excessive. In my opinion I think we should take another vote where the team reps can take a vote within their teams. I'm not sure how we voted but this is the first I've heard of it. All team reps should let their teams know this weekend and take another vote. I plan on playing in the super bowl but I know a few of us can't if it's pushed back to December 11th

I contacted team reps because team reps are just that...team reps. Yoyr team rep represents your team as does the other team reps represent their team.
