| Mr. Cook, I apologize that the group has not received a thank you for the donation as of yet.
I am sure that Mr. Mooney can tell you how well received the donation was at the memorial service as well as the many thank you's he received personally on that night.
Lew did not have any family or significant other to take the lead on all of this. As a result Mary Broch and myself are in charge of the memorial. It is our intention to come to a meeting and thank you personally. However, we are still collecting donations to have something to go along with the park bench the Maryland Slowpitch Softball Association has so kindly donated. We hope to wrap that up this month.
Lew was not one to seek out recognition and I think he would be slightly embarrassed by all the attention he has received since his death. However, I also know that he would be extremely pleased.
Thank you for this wonderful donation so that we can have a place to honor Lew at Cedar Lane, a park that he spent many, many, many hours at.
I will see you at a meeting soon to thank all of you personally.

| Thank you so very much for your generous donation in Lew's honor. His death has been extremely hard to deal with and that night at the memorial when we were informed if this donation I immediately became teary eyed and got goosebumps! It means so much the Lew is being remembered this way and Mr Mooney's speech was very heartfelt! So again thank you! I can't wait to enjoy Lews bench and memorialgarden!

| As a member of Lew's Crew, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Maryland Slowpitch Softball Association for their generous donation of the Lew Memorial Bench. Some of the girls are trying to secure additional funds to make a memorial garden for the beach. Lew's passing has been extremely difficult on his players and friends. Lew was such a pillar to all of us we are somewhat lost when it comes to getting things together. He was our glue, our leader, our go to person. I apologize for the delay in show of appreciation. The only reasoning I can give is that none of us feel worthy of stepping up to try and fill the empty shoes left behind. Once again Thank You to the association and everyone who made it happen.

| I would like to thank the Softball Association for their generous gift in memory of Lew. I was upset that I couldn't go to the memorial, but I hear it was a wonderful, solemn service. But at least I can go and visit the memorial thanks to your generosity.

| As a player of one of Lew's many teams, I really appreciate the sentiment and generosity showed by the MD Slow Pitch Softball Association. The memorial was a tribute and a celebration of a life cut short. I look forward to the bench and garden next season. Although, I'm sure it will bring back some of the sadness. But we will endure and always celebrate. Thanks again.

| Lew passed away almost 2 months ago and many of us are still dealing with the pain of losing him. The donation of the bench to be placed in the Memorial Garden at Cedar Lane will give everyone a place to go and visit with Lew. We really do appreciate Mr. Mooneys kind words at the service and the fact that he came out on such a cold wintery night.
Thanks again and we certainly hope that you will join us when the Memorial Garden opens.

| Dear Marty, I'm very sorry for not saying this earlier. Unfortunately travel teams come from all over and there isn't always a relational communication level. What you did was something a friend would do. Thank You for caring so deeply. Angela

I was unable to attend but have seen pictures of the event and seen all the kind words and deeds that were done to bring it all together. What a generous gift you gave for the bench in memory of Lew. I am mailing my donation today for the garden to surround the bench you made possible. Thank you so very much.

| A huge thank you to the Maryland Slow Pitch Softball Association for their generous donation of a bench in memory of Lew. Lew had such an impact on those of us who played with him and for him and he will always have a place in our hearts. To have such a physical reminder, to be placed in a location that we all visit frequently, means so much to us. My apologies for not speaking up sooner. Your efforts are appreciated by more people than you will ever know.

| I sincerely apologize that we have all been belated in forwarding our appreciation for the generous gift you have made towards Lew's Memorial. Life for many of us has changed since his passing and some of us are not quite dealing with it as aggressively as we should be. I personally feel that I am still in denial. For others the affect of Lew's passing won't hit them until Spring Softball. However, the memorial that you all have so graciously donated will be an all so immediate reminder come Spring to those of us who may have temporarily forgotten. Everyone who played softball in Howard County most likely new Lew. Everytime we go to the fields to play softball this memorial will remind us to play with dignity, class and to just basically have fun and of course to WIN! His spirit will always remain on those fields and many of us will probably swear we see him sitting there on his bench watching us.
Thank you again so very much. Cindy Hall

| I would like to thank MSPS for recognizing Lew through the memorial. He has done so much to for the sport of slow pitch softball in Howard County. Through his 30+ years he gave so many people the opportunity to play by putting together different levels of teams, and co-ed as well as women's. Although Lew was a great strategizer who wanted to win, more important to him was the quality of the team. Not just the skills, but the attitudes of the players was equally important. He was such a great ambassador for the sport as he recruited, coached and played the sport. Thanks again. I know he would be humbled by all of the recognition.

| Lew's passing has been such a difficult event in our lives. The service at Cedar Lane #2 was a good way to begin the grieving process and hopefully the healing process. We have been overwhelmed with all that needs to get done to close-out Lew’s estate as well as all the duties to try and continue his many teams. It was a pleasure meeting Rich at the service. His speech was so kind and honest, and of course the gift of the bench is beyond words. We are so happy and appreciative of the donation. We can’t express how delighted we are for the generous gift. This will truly help keep Lew’s legacy alive!
Having a place to go and something to see so we can remember him and think of him will be a true blessing. Again thank you Maryland Slowpitch Softball Association!!!!!!!!!!!!
