| So now that the calendar has turned and you can begin to get off the couch and stir those thoughts of getting out and running...

We as a league did something special last year in matching our softball sport that we love, with a big give away of some used and new gear.
Some key people gave and they know who they are and we thank them for the time to consider to give of their treasured gear to people overseas.
We will be sending this out soon with Global Baseball. They will be all over the world but specifically in Israel 3-4 times this year teaching the game. We will not make this trip (the gear)on January 6th... too expensive to ship right now. We have $130 raised and need more to get it into the correct hands for take over. Cut a check to Southern Illinois Softball and get to John if you are passionate toward the sake of the cause.
Anyway, that is the update, and feel proud Southern Illinois because we are doing more with our leisure than just enjoying the game... it is a lifestyle we hope to give to others and we will in 2012! My garage is 1/3 full with balls, bats, gloves, shirts, shoes and they will make a difference soon!
