I attended a girls softball practice this evening and I was very disturbed by what I saw.
I witnessed the 25 yr old female Head Coach goofing off with 3 high school students and also a parent for 20 minutes. The coach told the kids to go get a drink, which took them less than 5 minutes to do. And then they stood around watching while the coach was messing around with her 18 year girlfriend who is a Derry senior, her girlfriends sister, and as embarassing as this will be my son who is a junior.
I find this kind of behavior to be very unethical.
In my opinion I do not think this is what the parents pay for.

I have also come to be very concerned with the coaching staff of the Derry Area Youth Softball Program. A coach should be qualified to provide all children with a safe environment to participate in their favorite sport. A coach should also prevent a child from committing any action that could pose a threat to him or herself or any other individual. However, one of your softball coaches posted a video on facebook that she recorded in which a child is super glueing an object to another child's skin then the object is torn from the child's skin. I know that I would not allow my child to be under the supervision of a coach who would allow this type of activity to occur. The child could have been seriously injured and with all of the recent uproar of the Penn State Scandal this too could be seen as child neglect or child abuse. Hopefully this will bring to the attention of the athletic association's board members that something needs to be done about the quality of coaches in the program before a terrible accident may occur or a child may be seriously injured due to a coach's poor supervision.
