| I am astounded with the quantity of money each team pays to play in the league, that the condition of the infield of several of the fields we play on is astonished. I have seen several players take bad hops almost hitting them in the face and this is only due to the horrible condition of the grounds. I can see playing a few games in sequence and not raking the field, but when water runoff trenches and tire tracks rutted plague the infield, that is a good scenario for a disaster. This is an issue shared by many teams we have encountered thus far. Is this our job to rake the field?

Put simply, yes.
The league fees do not cover a grounds crew, but simply grounds usage and umpires. The field we played at on Sunday was pretty decent, after a little work around first and second base.
I believe there is supposed to be a rake in all the equipment bins. If there was one missing, I'd suggest sending an email to Jeff so that he can pick another one up.
